The man with the pistachio brain or "Where's Behle?"
Once upon a time there was a man who had a brain the size of a pistachio... Now let's come to something completely different - Since I have already put Inge Meysel and Helmut Berger under excessive strain and abused them for my absurd stories, which polarize as expected, I am forced to conjure up a new, different rabbit out of my hat, in order to provoke one or the other here or at best to entertain them a little. I recommend a tasty pistachio ice cream for this....
The title "Where is Behle?" will probably say something to the fewest here but briefly to the explanation for those who know the 80s only from Grandpa or youtube: Bruno Moravetz (sports reporter) had searched for the German cross-country skier Jochen Behle at the 1980 Olympic Winter Games in Lake Placid during the transmission of the 15 km cross-country skiing on 17 February, when he was not shown in the picture despite his intermediate best time. (Marius Müller-Westernhagen even recorded a song with the title and just mentioned sample of Moravetz)
It's like this with the current Basile Uomo (the hymns of praise raised on him have absolutely their right to exist). Hardly sprayed on, it is already on the run again. I suppose the perfumer had watched too many "Richard Kimble episodes" during the creation process....the fragrance could have easily been called Escape but it is already occupied by Calvin Klein. Well then, as usual I don't say much more to Basile as I don't want to chew the cud any more what others can do better anyway but how to associate this scent with "gold chain, chest hair and Ebbi Thust-memory glasses" is a mystery to me. While other candidates virtually kick the door in, the fine Italian comes through the keyhole or "breathes himself into the other room"... The menthol note described by Nofrete is conspicuous, but I notice it from the beginning next to the patchouli - great. Too bad that the scent (like so many) was amputated. The 15 euros are nothing, but it would be nice if the companies could at least provide the suitable prostheses in the future, especially if the juices tend towards 100 euros.
I would have recommended here almost again the alternative mandatory bottle Barolo or ne´ cup Kaba think but the Basile is a great addition to the collection of fine ladies and gentlemen.

Basile can do much more than basil
What a rarely beautiful prelude, bright and moving. Green of all shades, marbled with citrus yellow and lavender lilac - the citric and the herbaceous, cool and warm notes, light and dark play around and enhance each other like yin and yang.

After a quarter of an hour, the fragrance becomes calmer, but by no means boring. Cloves, nutmeg and galbanum form a bright triad with an abundance of overtones. It smells spicy and resinous close to the skin, while fine menthol accents unfold in the projection. No trace of flowers and berries. After an hour, the perfume becomes softer and more earthy. Cinnamon is added, but not sweet and gourmand Ceylon cinnamon from the scatter can, but thick bork cassia cinnamon from the jungle.

The pleasure lasts for two hours, until oakmoss and sandalwood begin, and the fragrance gradually fades away, friendly, completely without leather and patchouli. It is still good, but towards the brilliant beginning the end is quite inconspicuous. (That may be because of my skin.)

All-season fragrance, quite cooling in summer. Multifaceted and balanced, but not pleasing: certainly too exhausting for noses that only know modern perfumes

Accidentalmente
This bottle came into my possession by chance. I had ordered Basile for women (Basile Femme) and I got this as there was a small bar-code sticker with "Basile for women" on the box, even though the box itself says very clearly in big letters "BASILE UOMO" (uomo is Italian for man), but then you can not expect everyone knowing Italian.

Luckily the company I ordered it from has great costumer service and I could also keep it, so after smelling it it got a place in my collection. It is quite a herbal chypre (I would classify it as herbal also, if that was in the classification list), starting with a green blast of herbs which I can not all identify but the basil seemed most noticeable; I checked with the basil pot at the kitchen window. Oakmoss is very strong here and gives a cool forest feeling. After five, six hours leather is also noticeable, but subdued to the oakmoss. I guess that the other notes round Basile up and hold the dominant notes together without showing up front.

Basile uomo can very well be worn by women if they like their chypre green, herbal and strong. It is great for everyday and business, it goes well with jeans or business suits and is a good match for summer days.
