I almost had it made
This approach was more than laudable. Take the much-loved ginger and mix it with minty freshness, colour it squeaky green and add a little pinch of nutmeg to cushion the effect.
Not only does that sound fucking refreshing, but Gingembre Vert can deliver the promised... but - and here we come to the general limitation: only very temporarily. That means strictly speaking only to the absolute top of the head, even though Cologne officially does not allow a pyramid.
What you get at first is a proper sweet and sour citrus-fresh kick between your cheeks and on your cheeks. Those who don't wake up from it, have probably already passed away. You might ask yourself whether more mint or ginger or even a few hidden lemons have the say.
Anyway - it is a nice bang and I think it could go on like this for hours. It does not matter whether these scents are from this world, because what counts here is the impression ... and here it's powering quite a bit in a positive sense.
However, the ginger says goodbye almost as quickly as it came and leaves us with a floral shade of green that doesn't look quite as smooth as it should. In other words: here, Gingembre Vert becomes a bit one-dimensional after all and does credit to the second part of its name. You can like it, but you don't have to.
If Gingembre Vert had been continuous from first impression to the drydown after half a day in head note mode, Berdoues would have made a big hit. At least it's still a decent representative, the tangy-citric-fresh Hello-Wakeful faction with an initial bite. Since this cologne from Berdoues is currently offered at 16.31 € per 480 ml, it is ideal as an after spray.
Moreover, the fragrance should be more ideal for green note lovers than for those who are still looking for the ultimate ginger perfume. Otherwise... see headline!
