Fresh cream
I will rock the fragrance now in spring and summer. It doesn't last forever now. About 3 hours for me. For the price, I can forgive that because I really like the fragrance.

I immediately get a creamy freshness. Like I've just hopped out of the shower. Not sweet, not heavy, not pungent. Simply pure, clean lightness.

Yes, I also notice something masculine after half an hour. But that's exactly what I like. I simply find it exciting when fragrances change a little and are not just monotonous from start to finish.

you can get 20ml quite affordably and I'm glad I dared to test it. The size of the bottle is quite cute and fits well in the hand and the white color simply matches the bottle. When it's empty, I'll be sure to buy a larger version.

It's all over on Ash Wednesday
Today, on Ash Wednesday, I just wanted a subtle scent - to come down a bit from the great days, so to speak. I celebrated carnival for the first time in decades. Well-behaved, in a family circle, without a movie break, etc., but still celebrated.

Ash Wednesday is now a turning point. Although I always make the joke "I'm giving up on giving up", at least I'm giving up my beloved radio listening while driving. If necessary, I'll even give up a fragrance. But I stop at caffeine and sugar :D

These two introductory paragraphs are intended to show the mood where this fragrance has its strength and raison d'être. It's a quiet scent, not for the big show. It's great on subdued days like today. As I haven't worn it for a few months, I was surprised this morning at how beautiful it is. A few hours later, I sprayed it on again, partly because of its longevity, but also because I really wanted to wear it again. I had remembered it as being much more boring.
Well, what does it smell like now... Floral-fresh is actually a good description, but it's not really a floral fragrance. The fragrance makes you feel clean, well-groomed and definitely perfumed, but everything is discreet.

The wallflower that has no problem being overlooked or underestimated, because in the end it knows what it is capable of.

My number 1 cream fragrance
One reason I signed up for parfumo after my collection grew to over a hundred bottles in a few years is to analyze my wearing habits. I no longer want to acquire fragrances that then gather dust for years in the far corner of my closet.

Winner in the category "frequently worn" is actually the drugstore fragrance Betty Barclay, Pure Style in the eau de parfum version. Since I like musky scents, woody notes and white flowers, this fragrance first went on my watch list, then into my collection and has slowly become one of my favorites. Since I feel the overall rating is too low, especially in comparison to the other two pastel fragrances from BB, I decided to write my first comment on this fragrance.

With fragrances, I am less interested in the individual fragrance notes than the overall impression and I find here very successful. All other cream fragrances from Nivea to Jil Sander Style to Femme by Bvlgari were a little too sweet or pleasing to me so far, but this one meets exactly my taste and my type: completely straightforward, simple and straightforward. In particular, the absence of vanilla, tonka bean and sandalwood and other "warming notes" makes Pure Style special for me. However, I can well imagine that some perceive this fragrance as undercooled and unfriendly. For me personally, this composition is simply perfect.

Certainly there are more complex scents with more expressiveness, but none gives me more the feeling of inner tidiness. I use this fragrance whenever I want to be for myself and do not have to play a social role. Whether I'm just tidying up my apartment or doing yoga.

Once sprayed, I take the fragrance over eight hours very well. A scent progression I can not make out indes. The fragrance remains in its simple creaminess on the skin until it slowly fades after about 10 hours. I also like the bottle exceptionally well. It looks chic in my white-gold-gray bathroom and it also feels very good in the hand. I feel him in its round shape even as a real Handschmeichler.

White
"Pure Style" (the eau de parfum) is the first perfume ever by Betty Barclay which I acquired. It is housed in a rather minimalist white bottle, very fitting for the scent. It starts very white with freesia, a bit of bergamot and already lily-of-the-valley joins in. In the dry down this is supported by musk; I can not notice the other notes.

All in all it is floral, but a fresh greenish floral without a hint of sweetness and a slightly powdery touch. I would go so far to call it minimalistic and somehow it reminds me of "Blanc" by Joe&Paul. Also I think Jil Sander, but why?
It can be worn everyday, even for business and fits well for spring. The small bottle is good to take along, which is needed for touch ups as longevity is about half a work day.
