Dancing Oboe
Cumin as a fragrance is seductive and beautiful, spicy and warm. This special substance exudes a very sensual scent, which, when used in the right context, can have a pleasurable effect. With the addition of floral notes, paired with sandalwood and patchouli, this effect can be further enhanced. They all stimulate the production of the body's own pheromones. We do not consciously perceive these substances. It is a gentle magic.
Some time ago the wonderful Maggy4U sent my LordLuxifer loads of samples of BtV. If there is an expert on fragrances of BtV, it is definitely the mentioned Mr. M4U. Curious girl like me, I also sniffed at the numerous samples of the noble donor. At "Violaceous" time stood still for me. I was like paralysed. What I smelled was different. It was better than almost anything I'd ever been able to smell before.
Well, here would be a good time to define what actually triggers a woman olfactorically. The industry gave us the powdery, sweet scents Girls, we know better. Once in a while, for appearances' sake, we go with it. But deep down... it's not really. Every one of our companions who paved the way to independence and freedom for us was neither sweet nor powdery. All our predecessors sacrificed themselves, had to be at least twice as strong as the average man. I am talking here about strong women like Marie Curie, Louise Otto-Peters, Clara Zetkin, Simone de Beauvoir and so many unknown women who ensured that today we can experience equality as a matter of course. That was not always the case.
What do we like now?
It can be a little dirty. It must have depth. A woman can see through the superficial very quickly. We may not communicate it openly, but we recognize the unloved simplicity! We are complex. We expect complexity.
"Violaceous" is a fragrance that touches me deeply. The listed scents do not appear to follow the scent pyramid. It's a playful jumble. What there is is an explosion of everything. Lavender flirts with the floral notes and combines with the chocolate notes of benzoin. The depth of oud, patchouli and tobacco is also immediately present. Everything dances merrily around this perfectly interwoven note of cumin. I experience this fragrance as a reference for the cumin note. It is neither sweaty nor unpleasant. It has the intensity of an oboe. The wonderful sound of the oboe has already amazed many. This is the case with this controversial scent. It is the star of the composition.
A few weeks ago, I ordered Amber from Roja Perfumes. I remembered that this fragrance also has this wonderful combination of lavender and chocolate pralines. On the surface, ROJA's Amber is a great fragrance, but it lacks the depth of "Violaceous". And it is precisely this depth that the BtV creation gets with this wonderfully incorporated note of cumin.
The fragrance lingers for over 8 hours on my skin. I experience a wonderful finale. No, the lover doesn't leave after the consummated act of love. He stays there, embraces me and shows me that my decision was the right one. As much as I am sorry, I will have to tell the charismatic Russians that I have a new signature, which is so beautifully purple
