4711 3.0
For all those who find the original 4711 too hot, too omahaft or too kölsch or everything at once, there is good news. 001 Fleur d´Oranger Petit Grain Bergamote by Bon Parfumeur offers the elegant, soft and contemporary solution to the above-mentioned problems.
Although the typical neroli in combination with bergamot play the first two violins here and rosemary and lavender remain strongly in the background, as the name suggests, petitgrain is played well, which makes the overall impression more orange.
Recently I commented on the Remix Cologne Edition 2018 of 4711, which, however, puts even more emphasis on the orange card.
The 001, on the other hand, is closer to the original, but so smooth that you simply have to like it. It also offers a finely rounded base with musk and orange blossom, which turn the fragrance into a valuable, refreshing cologne, which you may also like to wear beyond 30°C.
Bon Parfumeur is also for me a rather unknown French brand, which has launched a whole series of numbered fragrances, all of which are very independent and relatively complex, but can be combined with each other. On the Bon Parfumeur website it is recommended to mix 001 with 201 Pomme Verte Muguet Poire, the green apple lily pear for a fruity variety or with 801 Embruns Cèdre Pamplemousse, a cedar grapefruit spray for a sea fresh variety. I haven't done that now, because I don't like the layering so much, but it could be a little Eldorado for those who like experimenting.
The prices are reasonably moderate, so you don't have to be afraid to try one or the other or to fill it into pocket sprayers. At least 001 as Cologne is manageable in terms of durability, but not too short-lived and just as ok in terms of projection.
