The Italian luxury hats manufacturer equips the men's world with high-quality and tasteful felt hats.

The company was founded by Giuseppe Borsalino, who was born in Italy in 1834 and initially trained in fashion in France. He initially took over the management of a small hat factory in 1857 and then inaugurated his first atelier in 1888 in Alessandria, Piedmont. The Paris Exposition Universelle of 1900 helped the label gain more exposure and expand considerably. In 1920, creative advertising campaigns were followed by the first boutique in 1925 in Alessandria, which helped Borsalino finally become the ultimate brand for men's hats.

The emerging Hollywood ensured more fame, as the label's hats were worn by Humphrey Bogart, Marlon Brando and Harrison Ford, Michael Jackson or Robert Redford. Personalities such as Winston Churchill, Theodore Roosevelt and Al Capone were also avowed fans of the felt hats. From 1950, "Borsalino" offered women's hats, and in 1970, a feature film was named after the brand.

For a long time, the label used mainly the hair of beavers or rabbits for the production, which made the hats very light and water-repellent. The straw models took over more time and more straw to produce.

Borsalino's business dynasty in the 21st century is much more than an exquisite hat brand. The label is now part of pop culture and is honored in movies, songs, museums and even stamps.
