Lavender water: so pure and gentle!
The fragrance package, which 0815abc gave me, contained not only the announced miniatures (what a fragrance festival!), but also an almost baroque-looking flacon made of clear glass:
"Lavande Supérieure" by Bourjois, a brand that already brought me my mum close.
With many lavender scents, I love the scent totality: lavender fields as far as the eye can see; sun-drenched, so that not only the blossoms but also the herbaceous inherent scent of the plants impregnates the still-warm air and the soil adds its earthy aroma.
They convey the impression of a walk through evening lavender fields or a rest at their fringe in the shade of pines and cypresses.
This "Lavender Water," however, is a bath in a mass of tiny purple blossoms; almost of purist purity.
"Lavande Supérieure" does not scratch or bite; it nestles gently and enchants with its soft floral beauty.
It imparts a sensation as tender as the touch of butterfly wings on the skin!
The Bourjois brand has a long history; first as a recognized manufacturer of stage makeup; later through its fragrances, including "Soir de Paris".
Therefore, it is quite possible that "Lavande Supérieure" was created as early as the end of the 19th century.
When I think of Yardley's "English Lavender", that was the time for such quietly scented cloaks that enveloped fragrantly.
It's definitely a classic country scent, and even reminds me a little of "washing lavender"; meaning the dash of lavender water that was added to the final rinse water to give the laundry a particularly nice scent.
I can remember that I saw not so long ago at one of these small soap manufactures of Provence even still a canister with it in the assortment (and marveled).
It would have been a shame if at least one comment had not been dedicated to this so lovely floral scent.
These pretty little things are unfortunately very quickly forgotten, although they can influence everyday life so positively.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank 0815abc for this gift of fragrance.
She knows that she not only made me a great joy with it; She also knows that this delicate treasure will be in good hands with me!
It is a greeting from another time that tells its own little story:
a "lavender fairy tale"!
