Vanilla encapsulated in a sea of dark, earthy notes
A very resinous, herbal vanilla. The dark green of the packaging matches the scent perfectly. Veridia has a spa or sauna vibe to me: Calming, relaxing and a bit mentholated. On the other hand it also feels witchy, like some mysterious potion brewed from ingredients picked in the woods.
While the vanilla in this is light and creamy, the rest of the scent is pretty dark. I smell a lot of dark, earthy patchouli, dry sage, cooling angelica and black pepper. To me this is not much of a dark chocolate scent, I think if you expect this to be a gourmand you might be disappointed. Any chocolatey notes here are thoroughly intervowen with patchouli. Galbanum is not a favorite of mine, I often find it musty and too bitter, but it works in this context. The vanilla tames it. The overall texture is ambery like dried tree sap, which works nicely with the coniferous note of cypress. So, everything feels very foresty with a subtle sweetness that makes it wearable as a perfume.
Veridia is not among my most favorite green vanillas ever, it might be a tad too resinous for my personal taste and I also wouldn't pay the steep price even before this got discontinued. But I do like it, it's a very well-done scent if you're looking for an extra-foresty take on vanilla.
