Cobraa
My first comment in this forum will be directly the first comment for Kobraa. Up to now I have never had this immediate urge to put my feelings into words and share them with you. I like to associate scents with character traits, to mentally associate images, memories, places and situations with a perfume
Kobraa fascinates me immensely, he seems in a certain way sublime and rather arrogant. Less cuddly, but still trustworthy. None to cuddle, rather a heroic protector. Not a crowdpleaser in this sense, but he will attract a lot of attention.

For me, it starts out very fresh, cool, crisp, spicy. In English I would say crisp. Then comes the rose geranium leaf, it slowly lays down like a veil and captures the first wild impressions skilfully and confidently balanced. As it progresses, the fragrance increasingly relaxes and develops a certain calmness. This is probably also because my nose relaxes and gets used to the scent. The incense is present throughout. The oud now starts to press, but not in a negative sense. It gives this fragrance the perfect depth for me, it seems neither too heavy nor too animalistic. It supports the rose geranium leaf, complements it restrainedly. Fascinating how Cavallier-Belletrud created such a masterpiece with only a few, but high quality ingredients.

Many condemn the Le Gemme series by Bvlgari as overpriced and not fair to the price. It is up to each individual to judge this. For me, they are very special fragrances which, in addition to their clearly scented, high-quality components, in the world of fragrances a class of its own and, in my opinion, even define.

In conclusion, I would like to say that, despite previous praise, I will probably not get Kobraa. Even if this fragrance fascinates me so much, it should be enough for me as a bottling. Out of respect. It has to fit its wearer and the wearer should not (have to) justify (daily) wearing it with hype. For the time being I will not wear it fully, but will enjoy its quality and sublimity every now and then.

The Queen of crime
...... definitely Margret Rutherford for me. As Miss Marple, she was unbeatable. I loved those black and white whodunits with stories that were never boring. And she was cool, nothing rattled her. She was tomboyish, had a sassy mouth, and was hilarious. Agatha Christie didn't think so, but didn't interest any fan of the actress.

Kobraa certainly wouldn't have worn it at the time - more like Bluebell. But if she were alive today, I'd wish to smell that on her. The way she often stands there, smiled at by the inspector, deliberately playing dumb. And then in the end she knows who the murderer is.

Kobraa starts with me with the unpopular rose geranium. From this flower goes already times a coldness, shortly before to become metallic. Happens often with me with rose geranium. I find them harsh and cool. Then I add incense and oud. For me, it now becomes more pleasing and the scent crime continues. If I were to describe it as an image, I'd say someone put a box of dry ice there. The incense conveys a coolness, which I have not smelled so yet.

Someone who wears Kobraa is respect-inspiring, spreads a feeling of aloofness. I wouldn't want to wear the scent, even though I admire it as a work of art. The scent reminds me of Aventus, where I smelled metal. Kobraa is more pleasing and smoky to me, but just as icy.

Kobraa vs. Alhambra Dupe
Generally speaking, I have never been a fan of incense. Too heavy, too dark, too resinous, too something. Through the nasal tasting of a sample lovingly sponsored for me (many thanks to Nicole), I came to enjoy, and I mean enjoy, the original from Bvlgari.
How can the fragrance experience be described? Actually, I would say sauna. It smells like a newly built luxury sauna with a minimal oud factor and also has the corresponding relaxing effect on me. Ergo: addictive potential. This blend of dark, deep incense, pine wood and a tiny bit of green really won me over completely. The ethereal fragrance molecules are perceptible right up to the lungs, the perfect scent for my sunny soul on a rainy day.
The catch: at over €300, it is priced in a galaxy where a good clone could be a sensible alternative.
So a dupe was organized from the house of Alhambra.

How close is the dupe to the original?

I have good news and bad news: let's start with the bad news. The dupe by Maison Alhambra (Sceptre Malachite) has absolutely nothing to do with the original and is a completely independent perfume. It smells of floral-ambery rose geranium and its leaves and has dry, woody notes. I also imagine pepper and ginger. Like the "original", HS is really good, i.e. perceptible for at least 8 hours, the sillage is opulent - but by no means intrusive! Rather delicate, unisex and (unfortunately) has nothing to do with sauna. Nevertheless, a great perfume that can perform very well in the office, on a date and in your free time.
So on the one hand I'm disappointed because my hopes for a cheap alternative have been dashed, but I'm also delighted with my new Cheap Hidden Gem.

The Green Beast
If Interlude Man is the Blue Beast then this should be considered the Green Beast. They both take the same spine of herbal/spice, incense, and oud in different directions. And by god are they both potent! While Interlude is dark and brooding, introducing leather, patchouli, and amber in the base notes as the scent opens up, Kobraa is surprisingly fresh given the note breakdown.

As other reviews have stated, there are surely many notes missing from the official pyramid. The peppery-floral geranium top note is joined by some citrus (or maybe it is the lemon-y nuances of the frankincense?) and an herbal note, perhaps coriander or rosemary? I also detect a camphoraceous pine or eucalyptus.

Olibanum dominates the heart of the fragrance, but it is not overly smoky like Search. It smells closer to distilled frankincense oil rather than burning olibanum resin, for example in a censer.

The incense note is supported by oud, but nothing fecal or animalic. Soft woods, more like a sandalwood or cedar, give the frankincense longevity. And such longevity! You will be smelling this all day if it is applied first thing in the morning.

Overall, Kobraa is a very high-quality powerful fresh incense fragrance that makes a statement. This is not a daily wear or dumb reach. Another reviewer said that it "spreads a feeling of aloofness" (translated from the German "verbreitet ein Gefühl von Unnahbarkeit"), and that is a perfect description for it. You wear this scent for yourself and not others. Let them think what they will. A Kobraa doesn't concern himself with the opinions of mice.

Let the kobraa bite you
I will tell you a little story.

I smelled this fragrance for the first time half a year ago and it blew my mind.

I have smelled a lot of fragrances but with this one i felt as the first time i smelled interlude, back a few years ago. This one opened my mind and created the need to get a bottle.

I spent the next six months trying to get a good offer for a bottle until the opportunity rose a few days ago.

Three official notes. Geranium, Franquincense and Oud. Of course this is a lie but oh my god, what a lie. I wish more fragrances lied to me like this one does.

This is a picture of a funeral pyre (minus the body) geranium flowers above and below the oud and the incense that burns

Dark, seductive, addictive

Something very special here! Geranium leaf if it was transformed into a luxury gelato, flickers of dry incense and clean oud. Mind blowing!
