It hurts my soul....
... how so many of my favorite fragrances have been made into something here that only disappoints me. Byredo: so many good perfumes! Baudelaire: such a promising name! Leather, incense, patchouli, amber: so much anticipation!

And then this: except for the caraway at the beginning (I hate caraway!), it smells mushy. It smells warm, a little animalistic maybe even, and, where is that coming from please?: Something smells greasy. It makes me nauseous, unfortunately. The scent even has some depth to it, but it doesn't really change as it goes on. Something is too much here and not right. I can not describe it, unfortunately, I can not cope with "Baudelaire", which I adore as a poet.

I can't possibly imagine "Baudelaire" on a woman. It is rather what for the little demanding gentleman from 70, who wants to chop instead of spill. The fragrance is for me the equivalent of Aunt Hilde's handbag, so the wallet of Uncle Heinz. The kind of Uncle Heinz, by the way, who belonged to the unpopular part of the relatives who, when you were a kid, always wanted to hug you and then made you black out in his cloud of aftershave and eventually you smelled of it yourself. Then as now: I want to wash it off quickly. Of all things, but the fragrance is quite clingy.

well, again bad mood regarding this designer-schmäh, maybe i should rename my user-name to statler and waldorf, because it seems that i just want to grumble at almost all newer scent appearances - even if i am now finally enlightened after what eighty percent of the people in the berlin-mitte-'bannmeile' somewhere between acne (the swedish label, not the dermatological conspicuousness and yes, I know they have moved to the potsdamer street ) and adidas originals shopping, along with encre noir, geza schöns molecules and when it comes up sycomore (okay I have to admit he has more than just what, but skin in the same score as the latter) smell ... - because this malfaitage (word invention!) really has nothing to do with the pioneer of literary modernity and also nothing to do with arrogant, daring dandyism, or pale, bloodless and eye ringed Parisian fin-de-siecle decadence, which the makers probably wanted to oracle up here -
everything i smell, although not in this order and not listed in the fragrance pyramid, is
in DOMESTOS inlaid PFLAUMEN on a bed of charred-candied SANDELHOLZ and that in a durability and sillage that the dead denser under guarantee still in hundred years in his grave rolls to beg for a bottle of laudanum formally.

It's not very different from Jessica Simpson's Fancy Nights (about $ 10), except that Baudelaire has leather instead of vanilla.
