If the sky had a scent
This is my third Eternity flankers, the other two are the Summer Edition 2015 and 2017 respectively. To start with, CK Eternity Air is not a standard aquatic scent despite it contains ozonic and sea notes, and it is comparable to the contemporary ambroxan men's colognes such as CD Sauvage, Versace Dylan Blue, Bvlgari Atlantique just to mention a few, anyway it is not a knock off of any of those. I don't know why ambroxan is so wildly popular right now, but for some reason, Calvin Klein seems to have gotten it right, at least for me.
Weird to say, CK Eternity Air for Men is classified as an aromatic fougere men’s fragrance, perhaps due to its lavender and moss blend, yet when I think of fougere my mind takes me to Azzaro pour Homme, the fougere for excellence and Air has nothing to do with it.

Let's now dig into the fragrance, which greets you with a strong blast of energizing dry mandarin aroma with breezy and water-like sensations. CK official page states that they used the unique ‘Sky Of The Sky’ accord, which imparts a powerful, fresh lime-like, citrusy-floral and sweet odor with little or no terpenic undertones. It is a fresh, bright, clean scent with notes of bergamot, lemon, and lime with sweet floral notes like fruity orange impression. All of this sweetness and is adjusted with tones of slight aromatic juniper berries appearing on the edges.

The slightly metallic ozonic note appears in the middle of the headnote flurry, lending a definite light and airy quality that fits the name. This handsome aroma, awakening the aromatic core of rich lavender and violet. The heart has that gentle touch of lovely violet leaf, not dominant, flanked with lavender and green apple skin, actually being used better here than in other apple-based scents. Green apple skin is now dancing gracefully about the heart node horizon, giving the initially tangy fruity experience a more subdued apple one, accented by the unfading sweet and spicy partnership of the lavender-patchouli. I then sense patchouli naturally creep in together, which anticipate the drydown trail.

Warm and inviting, earthy facets of patchouli blend with glowing nuances of ambergris, sparking a lingering dry down that exudes masculinity. The base is the aforementioned light ambergris note supplied by the ambroxan, dry patchouli, and a peck of sea moss to fill it out. A slight salty sea touch emerges with the sea moss, and the ambergris adds a tiny bit of animalic charm. This is a light, lovely, fresh, and well-thought-out ambroxan/aquatic hybrid that will scratch a specific itch for somebody into the modern style but not ready to leave behind the previous decade's freshies, nor swamp themselves in tons of amber woods toxicity.

The very lightness of Eternity Air for Men is both its greatest strength and biggest weakness though, since longevity is nearly on par with an eau de cologne, making this become a skin scent in under 3 hours. It's light, of modest reach and moderate longevity - par for the course for modern designer fragrances. You may need to reapply during the day, but a scent like this makes it feel very worthwhile. No one will hate this, many will love it.
Keep it to spring casual use if you come into ownership of it. After about 15 minutes or so, the intensity of Eternity Air fades and remains simply and subtly clean and aromatic. A pleasant warm weather flanker of the original classic Eternity, being far less tangy but retaining much of the aromatic flair. If Eternity Aqua cools you off on a summer day, this will warm you up on a chilly spring or summer night, and I feel like they complement each other perfectly. Worth a try, though it's nothing subversive in my opinion. yet I happen to like it.
Overall, I think the name fits. It's airy, but not in a 'cool breeze' sort of way. It's warm, slightly salty, a little bit floral.
