Summer morning in the flower-rich magic garden
The day is still very young: the first rays of sunlight are just finding their way through the light haze that still lies over the small, enchanted garden.
One of these midsummer nights, which did not bring any cooling, bowed before the approaching day and left the heavy, almost sultry aroma of the plants in the now still pleasantly warm morning air.
It is an almost balsamic mixture of flowers, woods, grasses and other mysterious essences.
The small stream on the property's boundary creates a special charm: it brings coolness and refreshment even in the most hot weather; its amusing splashing and murmuring accompanies this idyll.
And due to its moisture, flowers and leaves as well as the velvety-soft dark green lawn are covered with many small glitter crystals.
It is the hour of the day when, with a bit of luck, a late elf will flit into the undergrowth; and will not hang there in the old gnarled lilac bush "Herr Spinnweb", heavy with blossoms, which Shakespeare has welcomed so nicely by his note, the donkey in "Der Sommernachtstraum"?
She enters her garden realm and opens herself wide for the rich, fragrant splendour that offers itself to her eyes, ears and nose: all her senses are now wide awake!
The long garden dress is made of different layers of fabric in shades of green and blue; it nestles against your legs in soft waves.
The red-golden curls of her hair reach around this early time of the day still untamed up to her waist.
The light wind plays with single strands and makes them dance.
Her beautiful female face is unvarnished except for a little mascara and the usual red lipstick: there is still a lot of time until she has to think about her job.
So she strolls relaxed through her realm; a cup of the usual morning herbal tea in one hand. The flat, artfully woven basket in her other hand contains a thick, colourful cushion in addition to the garden shears.
This is also part of her morning ritual: she places it on the white wooden bench under the cedars, which immediately wrap it in their spicy woody scent. It's like a first hug!
So she enjoys her tea and a variety of colors, tones and fragrances.
Now, equipped with basket and scissors, she begins her first walk through the living green: her bare feet leave marks in the net of the morning dew that still lies over the lawn.
She cuts and collects many treasures into her basket: the bitter-smelling cyclamen, which shares the semi-darkness at the edge of the lawn with the white lily of the valley.
Both defended themselves against this disturbance of their peace with strong scent swaths. But they come into the basket; large umbels of lilac and jasmine soon join them, and also several of the magnificent fragrant roses have to leave their bush.
One or two noble gardenia blossoms and some branches of the full-blossomed Ylang Ylang complete the previous fragrance round off: not one of the flower creatures quietly and defencelessly surrenders its destiny - they all fragranced intensively!
As she passes by, she picks a ripe bergamot and rolls it between both hands: a little of the special fragrance oil emerges from the skin of this wonderful fruit - a blessing that blends harmoniously with the scent of blossoms! She also ends up in the basket with a few others.
Later everything would be distributed as colourful bouquets in vases and in the form of flower arrangements in the house: but according to her feelings there is still a lot missing. Just this morning she wants to indulge in the richness of the fragrant nature and be surrounded by its magic.
So she still visits the beds of the majestic iris, and does not stop at the two spicy aromatic carnation species: the powderiness of one and the spicy power of the other, are exactly what touches her senses.
Other lovingly chosen ingredients for her bouquets and flower arrangements are also chosen; at the end she adds some ripe white peaches to all the flowers; their fragrance already gives a hint of great pleasure.
One she must bite immediately: the sweet, rich-scented juice runs over her fingers.
Like a content child she licks them off and tastes the true, undestroyed summer!
Everything else she and her fragrance world still need now, she finds in the pretty vessels and vials that fill her own cupboard in her kitchen: called "the magic cabinet" So she conjures up a very special fragrance-dream from the treasures of her garden and her "mysterious" supplies, that will run through the rooms.
A little oak moss is added for depth; golden brown patchouli and fine sandalwood oil add a touch of exoticism to this colourful blend.
