The origin of the YSL Jazz DNA

Opens with lavender, basil, and citrus, then takes a brief detour into floral territory before ending up with warm cedar and a touch of vanilla. The dry-down can't not remind me of a vanillic YSL Jazz. I always tout how influential Jazz was when it was released in the late 80s, but as it turns out that DNA actually originated earlier with Fair Play in 1985.

It doesn't project much, and lasts about 5-6 hours.

... and the years passed like a scent. Even the old vials have disappeared from the drawers, only a hunch remains.
In searching young years Monsieur de Rauch met me and we had a decades-long intensive, metal-citric, carnation forest relationship, which was only slightly clouded by occasional deviations. At the end, the remaining perfumery in Besancon delayed the slow slide.
At a fair play with Nino Cerruti I met a new deep love. The memory of my monsieur was great. But only for a short time! Unfortunately, the pleasure factor lasted only a few years due to a lack of access to further flacons.
I recently found the monsieur in the striped robe in the souk. Not a thoroughbred! No, a zebra! So I didn't know him.
But today a rarity has fluttered into my house. Cerruti Fair Play EdT 1984. Awesome.
And so quickly the years have come back again.
