When an after shave was as strong as a perfume
I wore Antaeus After Shave continuously from 1986 to 1995. It was with me every day in my youth and student days. Applied in the morning, you had something of this amazing scent all day long - and as an after shave! My heavy leather jacket went with it all the time - from the lecture hall to the disco. There was nothing and nowhere else for me. Crazy times with a great fragrance. It was always heavy, masculine and exceptionally classy. At some point around that time, Egoist also came onto the market. For me, it was the effeminate opposite. But it instantly went through the roof everywhere. I remained faithful to the Antaeus - like a statement. Through the highest highs and the lowest lows.
I actually wanted to buy the current version of Antaeus again recently. Unfortunately, the fragrance no longer evoked any associations for me. And then I realized that it wasn't the aftershave either, or that it was no longer available.
You can't bring youth back anyway. Better to keep moving on to new shores. But it was a wonderful time, with a fragrance that was iconic for me.
