The Grace Kelly of my collection
I always find it fascinating when I read the statements and reviews here, how extremely differently fragrances are perceived or develop individually on the skin.
First of all, I have to say that I don't actually like powdery, feminine fragrances. My skin likes most fragrances to be sweet and I hate vanilla. That's why I prefer green to unisex perfumes, but I really wanted to own a "noble" lady... but not a grande dame, more like a 40-year-old Grace Kelly.
Since "Nomade" is one of my favorites, I didn't want to leave Rossana's review, which in my opinion doesn't do the fragrance justice, in an empty space :) - because my perception of this EdT is really completely the opposite:
@HappySunny compared it to an extremely expensive/precious body lotion and that was also one of my first associations. It's never lychee or fruity on me, freesia (and I would even have said soft, warm suede - but it's not in the pyramid) is clearly perceptible and lingers forever. And then the oakmoss. By definition, this is not really a chypre, perhaps its little cousin, and that's a good thing, because it lacks the old-fashioned, heavy notes that have kept me away from most chypres so far. I could have sworn it had at least a little musk in the base, but I guess it doesn't, weird...
"Nomade" is not for hot days, it kills me. I reach for it in the evenings, more in the cooler months or when I simply feel the need for an extra portion of feminine white-beige cashmere cuddly luxury.
I also find it hard to understand the comments about poor durability. It lasts forever! And must be applied carefully! I have now even treated myself to the body lotion and the combination lasts 12 hours+ (an extra thumbs up for the existence of this combination).
I tested both the EdP and the EdT because my little luxury ego actually wanted to treat herself to something. I don't like the EdP at all and only gave the EdT a chance thanks to the persuasion of the saleswoman at my trusted perfumery. The EdT is less fruity/sweet/floral, it doesn't overwhelm me like the EdP. So try both and see which you like better.
In terms of price, I think it's top because of its great performance, certainly not a drugstore favorite but often on offer and you don't have to sell your left kidney to afford it. Oh yes - there is a 30ml version, a size that I find incredibly great and which is unfortunately rarely available.
The bottle fits: simple, classy, pleasing to the overall concept (and hey, I like the leather bangle or the little ring on the lid, it feels so nice and soft).
