Blind buy fail
This was a blind buy fail that I had big hopes for. I have been on the hunt for a good Magnolia forward fragrance but, with my skin chemistry at least, this is not it. I know magnolia is a waxy flower but this actually feels like a light wax coating on my skin as it dries down. It smells nice and realistic for about 3.5 seconds and then it turns into the dirtiest, saltiest bad BO fragrance. It's not as offensive to me as the new Prada Paradoxe Intense (one of the most offensive things I've sprayed on my wrists to my nose) but Magnolia Alba is surprisingly close.
The performance is very weak with this fragrance as well so thankfully at least, it doesn't linger in the senses. I really wanted to love Magnolia Alba, but I think when it comes to magnolia dominant perfumes, I would much sooner reach for Gucci Gorgeous Magnolia any day over this . (It does help that I actually like wearing Gorgeous Magnolia.) Like anything though, YMMV.
The only nice thing I have to say is that I love the packaging.
ETA: I just realized that the perfumer behind this is behind Replica: Lazy Sunday Morning. I like the scent of Lazy Sunday morning and I've owned it in the past but it gave me a headache. I wonder if this perfumer and I just have very different noses/senses.
