Which is why I like you so much! / But every spray hurts financially... / Just a freshie?
Hello everyone,

today I would like to say something about the "Anniversary Collection - 20: The Masculine Perfume of an Iconic Pair | Clive Christian" .

I've been in the niche world for a WHILE now and somehow I'm missing one thing here - a freshie! Many now say - ok take the Imagination and that's it! And yes, I can understand everyone who says this, but to ME the Imagination is too widespread and certain other fragrances have a manageable performance...

Many people are now thinking, why does a freshie/ or even shower gel fragrance need to be in the niche?
Justified question - but why not!
Correct answer:

I've had enough of the quality (..) in the designer sector and that's why I've switched to the niche, this applies to all types of fragrances. And I was looking for a pleasant, fine, clean, refreshing and especially really high-quality fragrance. You could now say yes, take Percival for example, it covers that - not necessarily, it's not a summery fragrance - then Sedley yes, these aspects apply to it, BUT it has too little performance and is unfortunately too synthetic (Batch 2020 is good, from 2021 I stop....)

And fragrances from the house are not synthetic, certainly not! The grapefruit, yuzu and mandarin - petitgrain refresh you for sooooo many hours and in such a high-quality way - it's amazing. And in the drydown you can still notice 1 or 2 woods such as cedar and very subtle vetiver...

Nevertheless, although I would honestly like to, I CANNOT give the fragrance a 10 out of 10 and "really only" because of the price...

On the subject of the price....?

It's really hard for me to say "yes man" or "100% no", because yes (!) it's already a hit (and now an important point), you can already notice the fine tuning, the high-quality aspect and you can already tell that it's the same with (most!) fragrances from the house - oh come on, let's add something better/more expensive...

Many houses in the niche sector, such as MFK, work primarily on a purely synthetic basis, but here you notice a certain difference in quality!!!!

My conclusion on the subject of price, purchase and recommendation ..., IF you find a remaining bottle, take it and if possible do NOT pay the current collector's price (!) then I recommend certain fragrances of the house, such as this one!
The fragrances from the house that is not one of them are usually not performance monsters,
those are characterized by a noticeable and very neat composition,
Tuning, choice of oils etc. and for me this is worth far more than a 16h
Performance with a synthetic monster = personal opinion!
And that brings me to the performance:

The "Anniversary Collection - 20: The Masculine Perfume of an Iconic Pair | Clive Christian" gets a 7 - 8 from me and mMn this is also ok + good, it is a fresh, fruity - woody high-end fragrance and not a 20h rose - oud firecracker..., would I take more performance? Sure and gladly, but a higher % number of fragrance oils/concentration, for example, very often has a negative effect on the fragrance, so good job!
How is it received and when would I recommend it?

It always works, always fits (season and occasion) = really 1a!
However, I still see it more in the months of May to September,
because the mix of grapefruit, yuzu and the perfect balance
from the incense, the cedar and the vetiver make this one in the warmer
Months alongside Imagination to possibly the best niche fragrance
for the summer, among others.

If I wasn't really convinced, I wouldn't recommend it to you!
And now have a nice day/evening, or whatever you read this review, LG the Benny
_______

(Now the same as almost always - because it's true!)

Now on the subject of luxury:

As you can see in my profile, among other things, I have really smelled many fragrances and there are fragrances where you smell a certain (partly) strong synthetic and you notice quite quickly that some fragrance houses go for quantity rather than quality and there are some where you just realize "oh come on, let's put more + better in" and you can smell this at the end of the day.

Very briefly on the subject of OVP, bottle, sprayer:

I'll make it short, I give it a 10 out of 10 in each category and I know very well that tastes are very different. So if you honestly rate this with a 7 or less... - PUH. Beautiful and very valuable lid, beautiful timeless flacon design etc. .... so I find it very difficult to rate it differently and I am not saying this because I like a brand or not!
Now a brief word on the subject of my opinion:

I am not sponsored, influenced by anyone, receive money or anything else. I approach the subject of parfumo as I am, honestly, everything else is not mine. My real personal opinion is worth a lot to me and maybe I hope ;) that you notice that. If I don't like something, e.g. OVP, bottle, sprayer or H/S, then I communicate this!

A beautifully spicy freshi. Elegant, but is it worth its price?
The Masculine Perfume of an Iconic Pair is an elegant fragrance with a certain spiciness and a superficially fresh character Admittedly, this fragrance is not cheap, but is it really worth the price?
In my opinion, the fragrance starts with a peppery grapefruit note. This is immediately joined by a veil of incense.
The incense envelops the grapefruit, but is totally pleasant and pleasing!
It also becomes woody-sweetish relatively quickly. The suspicion is that cedar is making waves here. Cedar has many fans and yes, there is something about it.
I also have the impression of smelling something aniseed-like, but this is not listed.

Over time, the fresh grapefruit character becomes more and more tart, but is still present.
The yuzu fruit probably contributes to this, as it has a naturally slightly tart character.
For me, it's also getting "greener". But I don't know if green is really the right word here.

Admittedly, the fragrance reminds me a little of Elysium Eau Intense by Roja.
I definitely recognize parallels.

Admittedly, neither fragrance knocks my socks off, but I like them.

The performance is okay for this kind of fragrance. It even tends to be really good!
Now we come to the conclusion of the price. Personally, I wouldn't generally spend the money on a fragrance unless you're splitting it. But definitely not on its own. It's also not worth €450 for 50ml for me. I don't think the DNA is unique enough for that and, as I said, it doesn't blow me away.
But everyone should decide for themselves and everyone should test the fragrance for themselves.

Is not an Elysium cologne clone!
Oops, but... is an Elysium Cologne clone
In the opening you think for a moment that some too strong aniseed-like spice is running over you, but you could suppress the washing up reflex, and suddenly... mhhh wow, that's much better now.

Wait a minute... I know this one...

Encre Noir?

Hmmmm a little bit, but sparkling
Oh, oops, is Elysium cologne... say, 70% Elysium, 30% Encre Noir
But well hit, less "oily" than the Dua klong "Supernova" and yes ... you can do if you get it cheaper than other competitors.

Have fun! :)

Are you kidding me?
When Clive Christian launches an anniversary fragrance and it lands in my mailbox as mystery teasing, then you'll usually be pricked up as a niche fan. Of course I was very happy to sign up for the free rehearsals and was very positively surprised when an envelope from the UK was in my mailbox yesterday. At the end of a hot day the notes of course promised a lot of freshness and the clarity of the chords, unusual for niche scents, made me hope for the same.

At first I only took a sprayer, because I was more often perfumed with EDPs and Extraits during evening tests, then still until the next morning. Depending on the scent, this can be nice, but also quite disturbing while sleeping. Clive's latest creation was strangely unnoticeable to me. So, this morning, with the threat of the hottest day of the week, much more often the small vial strives.

In numbers: 6 sprayers!

The fragrance starts with the subtle impression of fresh tangerine peel, citric, almost like behind a veil. So it is not a fresh invasion, but a familiar, calm understatement. Already here chords of blonde wood sound along.

After a good hour Petitgrain is added and gives everything an even softer finish. Thus the CC´s anniversary smell remains over hours. After 8, however, I hardly notice anything.

Over the entire course of the fragrance - despite the dosage mentioned - everything is so close to the skin that I briefly think of having to apply much more.

I'll let it go.

It's obvious why. In this price range, with the self-induced Epic claim, I can expect more. The smell is by no means bad. No, it's really beautiful. Almost classic. Unfortunately, I have to shake my head about the creativity to launch this fragrance in this form. Blindly, I wouldn't have guessed Clive or Niche. And certainly not an extrait.

Because measured by the concentration of fragrance, I expect a perceptible projection.

I am very curious to see how the fragrance will perform in your test.

And somehow it is also reassuring to get a scent from the watchlist. ;)

One of the best Clive Christian, its kind of same genre as Elysium but performance is a lot better around 4 - 5 hours very versatile.

Opens up with a peppery yuzu blast which settles down into a smoky-peppery vetiver. Lasts quite a long time. Good release from Clive.
