Hello guys (and snoopers! :D)
As you are already used to, I'm coming back today with a new comment and tell you my opinion about Clive Christians No. 1 for Women, a fragrance that belongs to the luxury brands and is therefore very expensive (about 450-650 Euro for 30-50 mL). No wonder that there were also extremely limited "Special Editions", which were sold for over 200.000 Euro (of course the bottles were covered with gold and precious stones and there were only 10 bottles in total, but nevertheless... :D). And these editions should be even more expensive now, because they are no longer available.
So, No. 1 for Women, what I'm testing here isn't a special edition now (but even if it was, the content would have been the same). But for this it seems to be the orderer of this fragrance brand. It is said that No. 1 for Women is said to be the most precious perfume in the world (not to be confused with "the best", because the most precious can actually exist in terms of production, costs and so on, but "the best" never exists because tastes are ALWAYS different). Because in the smell here over 200 natural smell materials and/or "ingredients" are to be contained, whereby not a single smell material is to be synthetically manufactured. The perfumers were allowed to use anything, regardless of cost, which is the reason why the fragrance No. 1 was called (and costs that much).
Under such circumstances one expects something almost grandiose. Then many will also complain that amateur snoopers like me would have no idea what I would smell if I made my judgement on it. But no matter. I smell and test the fragrance as always without being influenced by the value of a fragrance. I found the 3000 Euro Roja fragrance very good, but not overwhelming, just as an example that a very high price doesn't necessarily mean a great perfume, apart from that I would personally spend the 3000 Euro for something much more meaningful, like a gold-plated cat figure as paperweight or something like that... :DD
But let's get to the scent!
The fragrance begins fresh and floral, as well as slightly fruity and powdery. From the flowery scents I immediately notice the heavier Ylang-Ylangs, which as so often also leave a somewhat sultry impression. The background is citric fresh through the bergamot. The powdery scents clearly come from the iris and vanilla, although the vanilla is not yet strong. From the fruits I smell apricots, some plums and a little pineapple. Also in the background green and bitter green cardamoms seem to be.
And somehow this combination of scents has something to do with tea! Only slightly, but if you smell exactly at the sprayed spot, then there is a very light tea scent, or at least that's how it seems to me. Anyway, the tea scent as always of course provides a few bonus points, he he :D
From the heart note on the Ylang-Ylangs lose a little of their sultriness, and I hope it stays that way. From the other flowers I still smell jasmine and a little carnation, as well as roses. A little later the fragrance, which is already powdery and soft due to the iris and vanilla, becomes even softer and more beautiful due to resins such as benzoin, even if the Ylangs Ylangs in the base should gain strength again.
The Sillage and the shelf life:
The Sillage is okay. No firecracker, but for a while it is good to smell one through the nice scent of the fragrance bearer. The shelf life is very good because the fragrance lasts ten hours, I think even more.
The bottle is of course also in the "normal edition" very high quality. It is rectangular with slightly rounded edges and gilded with a dark golden hue. There is no label on the front, you can see the name and logo of the fragrance also in gold directly attached to the bottle. The lid is also gold-plated and represents a crown. It is said that the crown was a gift from Queen Victoria to this fragrance house in appreciation of her great fragrances. Yes, the bottle has become quite beautiful and in spite of the many gold-plated areas I find it more noble than showy.
Soo, since one could sometimes confuse precious with "the best", I now ask whether the fragrance has also become the best fragrance in the world, if it is already so precious? Well, no one can actually answer that. As long as one does not belong to these self-obsessed idiots, who regard all their own opinions as pure gold, then it is the case that tastes as already written here at the beginning are all different. Something quite wonderful could be the greatest disgust of all for some, while for others it could be the most wonderful thing in the world. And that's a good thing, because that's exactly why, in order to meet so many different tastes, there's so much variety in so many things, without which it would otherwise have been all too boring, isn't there? Yet it is an abomination to put coriander in scents!!! :DDD He he he, lucky that there was no coriander in this fragrance, brrrr...!
But my opinion about this fragrance here is very good. Even though I am sure that the fragrance would have scented quite well even with less ingredients (and therefore a lower price), I find the fragrance very successful, because it is complex and therefore in the course of the fragrance many scents are to be smelled, most of which however as so often more in the top note emerge and then gradually evaporate, while some little then solidify from the heart note and give the fragrance its character. First and foremost flowery scents and powdery notes.
The fragrance is very pleasant and soft and you can wear it at any time for yourself or to go out. To cuddle and love and so it is suitable due to the soft, powdery notes exactly well, as if you want to come across even times particularly feminine or sexy. Fortunately (for me) the Ylang-Ylangs didn't turn out to be that difficult, which I personally always find disturbing, but even if it had been like that, I'm sure that most of you ladies would have liked the scent anyway... you see, tastes are different :)
A test is worthwhile in any case, the only question is whether the fragrance is also the 450-650 Euro value, because there are similar fragrant fragrances for much less, where you would not smell any existing synthetic (or this would not be perceived as disturbing). Well, everyone has to know for themselves.
That's it then again and yes,... all have a nice evening :)
