The special and overlooked and disregarded... / More love for... / A little secret weapon and my wife's favorite!
Hello everyone,
today I would like to talk about a fragrance that got stuck in my head years ago and now we have one of my favorite Clive Christian fragrances, I'm talking about Private Collection - V: Amber Fougere
I tested it 1x before Corona and even then I knew that I would love it "hard" at some point, but probably I wasn't 100% ready for that = possible! Because I'm not a FAN of Vetivver, but fortunately I was less aware of that one...
It opens with a real WUCHT of bergamot, pepper and some vetiver, but very quickly this beautiful lavender note comes in and perfectly develops this fougere touch. The bergamot disappears and the vetiver fades into the background, the pepper lingers and plays with the lavender to perfection and you have the barbershop vibe of days gone by. Then the pepper disappears, while lavender is still very dominant, it remains in this stage while the mix of cedarwood, elemi resin, fir balsam and amber slowly sets in..., it is such an incredibly noble and graceful mix ... and this fragrance is truly magical...
Fougera fragrances are less those that are well received (such as the Platinum Égoïste Eau de Toilette ) but here it is really far far different. The first hour or for 2h it goes the fougere direction but after that... my feedback was 4 times in one day a WOW (!) + an address or turn around and in the end I can recommend it to you, not only because of the comments...
By the way the Private Collection - V: Amber Fougere is one of my wife's favorites and mine at the moment too!
Overlooked and less noticed?
Understandable and incomprehensible to me at the same time!
Understandable: Price, quite rare - nobody talks GOOD about it and you may need a certain age to appreciate it! Incomprehensible: The quality is really absurdly high (good)!
Therefore more love for....!
I see the performance as good+ to very good when combined with other fragrances.
Tips for LAYERING:
Le Mâle Eau de Toilette it creates a subtle sweetness in the drydown, a cooling factor and a performance of 16h+ .
With Reflection 45 you get a clean very creamy "KILLER" with a really sick performance in terms of 22h and more.
And Molecule 01 massively increases the performance without falsifying (15h).
Far too few people still know its true potential...!
If I really wasn't convinced, I wouldn't recommend it to you!
