Czech & Speake was founded in 1978 by Frank Sawkins, a former art student, and interior designer, in London's Jermyn Street. In the early years, the portfolio consisted of luxurious bathroom furniture, accessories, and some fragrances from other manufacturers, which caught the attention of the label's upscale fanbase. Their first fragrance appeared in 1980.
Since those days, the London-based family-owned business has launched more than 20 different fragrances. This shows that Czech & Speake takes time to produce their impeccable fragrances.
Perfumer John Stephen and his team only use essential oils, some resins, and aromatic ingredients for their fragrances, since the highest quality is an integral part of the company's philosophy. The complex and distinctive character of the ingredients is naturally reflected in the price. Although Czech & Speake has moved production to Italy, the brand's British character has been preserved over the years.
However, the company sees itself as a provider of men's luxury. Thus, in addition to the unique flacons and boxes, the "man of the world" also finds award-winning shaving and manicure sets.
