Close to the skin, but pretty
To my nose, this is a heady vanilla with incense and resins to make it sinewy. Hints of floral notes dart about. Benzoin and Balsam, vanilla and beeswax. Warm and embracing, stately and resinous. As with most of Dawn's scents, I find this to stay close to the skin and also with limited longevity. Her work is so magnificent that I don't mind though.

Natural vanilla?
The name 'Vanille Botanique' gives you hope that this perfume uses real vanilla. Many fragrances with vanilla are very penetrating and almost impossible to wear in the long run.

The beginning is very sweet vanilla, very dense. Quickly flowery and for a short time also the impression of beeswax is added.

After a good half hour, resin is also added and makes the fragrance even denser than it already is.

From the second hour it becomes woody, the sweetness retreats a little and 'Vanille Botanique' becomes a little lighter.

After about three hours the fragrance becomes a mixture of not too sweet vanilla and quite a lot of wood and resin. Big changes can no longer be smelled. So 'Vanilla Botanique' is quite comfortable to wear.

Vanilla Botanique' is probably not the real, natural vanilla scent, but it is not a gourmand for me. It is best worn in cold temperatures. The Sillage is not so pronounced, the durability is with me with approximately nine hours.
