Cool midsummer
It's the middle of summer 2009, I'm in my early 20s and have a huge crush on this cute girl.
We go shopping together and she suggests getting me a perfume. Up until then I had never bothered with perfumes but it didn't matter, of course I would take the one she liked best.
At the drugstore we came across Cool Water Game and I still remember how the scent immediately blew me away. At the time, I thought it was a great blend of fresh, aquatic and at the same time delicate, sophisticated and sophisticated.
Cool Water Game was to remain my only perfume for many years. I only wore it on special occasions and it always made me feel sophisticated and well-groomed.
Today, 2024, in my mid-30s, I've been collecting perfumes for about a year and I'm writing my first review here. I now have a somewhat differentiated opinion of Cool Water Game. I recognize the synthetic base, I find the fruity notes much more dominant than before. The fruitiness also brings a minimal sweetness that never dominates for me. the bottle is nice but the cap is cheap plastic.
I now also own the original Cool Water Eau de Toilette as well as the Cool Water Aquaman Collector Edition and can also recognize the DNA of Cool Water in the game flanker. You can clearly see how something was produced here that was supposed to be Cool Water for a 20-30 year younger target group. The durability is ok for me (4-6 hours) and the spray range and volume are very restrained. I think I liked the fragrance back then because it's not a monster that takes over the whole room.
For me, however, the feeling of something classy and sophisticated still remains, even though I am now familiar with much classier, higher-quality fragrances. This fragrance will probably always have a special place in my heart. Is it a "typical" mid-2000s fragrance? Maybe, I don't like to judge. But it always takes me back to that time when the summers were slowly getting hotter and hotter and you had the feeling that all doors were open to you.
