Black Ginger - the discovery of the summer or... Better late than never!
Oh, man, I wish I had done this blind purchase earlier in the year
I am overwhelmed with "Black Ginger"
Like (probably) most of them I have no idea what exactly black ginger is.
Of course I know the common ginger, which is often and gladly used in the Asian cuisine.
Also in tea it has its charm with its certain fresh spiciness.
When I respond to "Black Ginger" by Demeter/The Library of Fragrance, I am amazed at the complex fresh scent that enchants me here.
The opening is phenomenal. You wouldn't think you'd be slain by a spicy ginger aioli. A pleasant (almost clinical) freshness welcomes you here.
Keyword clinical. My son (17) is just starting to deal with perfumes.
His first association after spraying was: "It smells as clean as when you enter a dentist's office"
I had to pause for a moment, because the dentist himself does not necessarily have the best memories for me. But he is absolutely right with this comparison After he said it, I felt the same way
Now it's up to each person to decide whether they want to be greeted with this fragrance.
But what remains is a clean, spicy freshness that never bites the nose and literally comes across as refreshingly different
A previous speaker said to the scent that it could almost be a niche scent. I couldn't agree more. "Black Ginger" is by no means mainstream
I can't agree on the durability. From my point of view it is remarkable for an EdC of Library of Fragrance.
I got along with it easily for 3-4 hours, but the sillage is only perceptible within a radius of one meter
As I mentioned at the beginning, I would have liked to test "Black Ginger" earlier this summer at 30° upwards for a longer period of time.
Well, it still has its charm in the last moments of the summer and I don't know what would be wrong with wearing this fragrance in autumn as well.
Black Ginger" really got me, because there is more to it than just the smell of ginger (which is undoubtedly beautiful). If I were brave, I would add a little lemon grass, roasted coriander seeds and a mini breeze of curry to the scent
But the whole thing can of course be a total fantasy.
No conceit is my opinion of "Black Ginger".
It is a great, fresh-citric-spicy and extraordinary summer scent with depth, without being able to define it exactly.
