The old man and the sea
Okay, I'm not as old as the title suggests. But "Ocean" by Demeter makes me feel like I've been transported to the ocean. It's the only thing I can smell all the time, salty sea air. Not too stiff a breeze, but still strong.

I know from many reviews that the community is divided on this perfume. Either people love it or they hate it. Obviously, there's nothing in between. I'm in the first group. I really like Ocean. It was a blind purchase based on a review. I have to admit, at first I wasn't sure what to make of it. It takes getting used to the smell. You won't find natural notes in it. As I have already indicated above, it smells to me exclusively like salty sea air. Sand or "solar notes", which are mentioned in the description, I absolutely cannot recognize. But after I got used to it, I learned to appreciate "Ocean". As I already indicated in other comments, a perfume is good for me when it triggers feelings in me. And the perfume does just that. I feel transported to the ocean and feel the wind blowing around my nose. The sun is shining. Seagulls are crying. The sea is a little rough. And I like the rough sea. I like this ocean
A little warning at the end. After spraying Ocean quickly becomes exceptionally oily on the skin. So it might not be a good idea to spray it on clothes. I can't tell you exactly what it is, but it's not unpleasant on the skin.

Freely adapted from Horst Schlämmer: Kids get blood pressure
Like Horst Schlämmer, I also have "backs"... Sometimes more, sometimes less. More or less
Fortunately I have been spared from high blood pressure so far. But I (unfortunately) like to eat much too salty
Uh-huh, okay. And now what am I babbling about back pain and high blood pressure?

To start with: "Salt" is the dominant fragrance in Demters/The Library of Fragrance's "Ocean".
And salt is not exactly known to lower blood pressure.

I admit it, until a few months ago I had no idea that salty fragrances were quite popular. Also that the good old salt can have such a concise fragrance I did not know
Of course I know the doggone kitchen salt.
Also finer sea salt variations can be found in my kitchen.
However, I did not consciously perceive the smell.

"Ocean is teaching me better I use the roll-on.

Buy applied a salty wave of the very finest sloshes towards you.
Where Demters/TLOF play with this scent in "Salt AIr" and add a soft and warm component, "Ocean" is shooting from the first moment on
Here one does not find any calming in the fragrance process. Nah nee, the roaring sea is omnipresent.

The ocean is watery, algae and ozone. And again and again the blood pressure rises, in view of the heavy salt note.

This fragrance does not "stink" under any circumstances (as can be partially read here).
Of course this is very subjective, but the scent is much too clean to stink.
It is totally unusual and has not been smelled by me in this way before.
Maybe it's the unknown that's got him upset about something.

Sweetness is nowhere represented here, the above mentioned scent components intertwine perfectly and convey exactly what they are supposed to:
The feeling of being in or near the sea, without the noise of sun milk, lotion and co.

Unfortunately, I discovered "Ocean" too late this year. It's a pity because the scent screams for sunshine. Of course it also works great on cooler days, but for the perfect illusion it should be 25° upwards. For that it simply suggests the sea feeling too crass.

My Roll-On lasts a few hours on the skin, but is only perceptible at close range.
Whether and how this develops with the spray I cannot judge, except that with the Roll-On only oil and no alcohol is used.

For me, "Ocean" is a consistently successful "experiment" and does what it is supposed to do.
Smell of the ocean!
And now I crunch a few salt sticks ;)

If your household runs out of salt...
OCEAN is an interesting and special fragrance. I think it is not for human use, it is more likely for interior fragrancing for such company, which has service or products connected to the ocean.

This fluid is so salty, that I could not have imagined without test. I feel in an instant the beach sand under my feet, I hear the waving of the water. OCEAN makes me want to run under the shower and wash off the salt from my skin after swimming in the ocean. For lenghten this feeling the bottle is filled with synthetics, I am choking from them.
I am sorry if my review offended somebody, it is only a subjective opinion of course.
