"After Women Flowers are the most divine Creation"
Christian Dior was a true gentleman; his statements show that again and again.
He gave us women such beautiful compliments!
I love compliments and probably would have "loved" Christian Dior the person too.
Besides lilies of the valley, roses were his great love; his mother's still very impressive rose garden at the villa in Normandy where he grew up was probably the godfather here!
His creations - from noble fibers or noble fragrances - honor both again and again.
But are not peonies also radiant roses, only without thorns?
The mystery of the peony has been tried to capture by whole generations of painters:
Plump, lush beauties with heavy floral fragrance!
If they succeeded, these depicted flowers are even still fragrant - or not?
Just a few drops of "Holy Peony" transport me to a blooming flower garden; there stands a white lacquered bench in the midst of blooming peonies. It invites me to linger.
Now I do not let myself ask twice; it is too beautiful here.
Filled blossoms, round as pompoms; golden flower faces, surrounded by a bare wreath of white and boldly colored petals; many so plump they almost touch the ground.
One thing they have in common: they are all proud and beautiful and fragrant!
Peonies used to be my "birthday flowers": a florist from Moabit brought them fresh from the Kreuzberg flower market especially for me. (It's been a long time! Both are no longer there!)
Mostly in this delicate peony-pink and so freshly cut that not even their cut edges had dried when I got them.
Their fragrance was so intense that the vase had to spend the early summer June nights on the balcony with them; especially in the evenings, they were almost numbing aromas!
The scent of peonies carries the promise of summer: warm, already longer days, short nights, and quite a bit of the unexpected!
"Holy Peony" also brings a subtle hint of noble roses; the morning dew still lolls on the purple petals.
But not only that: the tangy aroma of fresh strawberries, mixed with that of ripe raspberries, also resonates in it; another delicious promise of summer!
Light wood and probably also light (white?) musk crown this fragrance creature.
Is this peony sacred?
Well, to one who worships the beauty of nature and especially flowers, certainly!
As a fragrance creation, "Holy Peony" is beautifully floral and very lively; with the longevity of an early summer day! Who expects more here?
An intensely fragrant floral beauty that adorns women and makes them feel very special.
Just as Monsieur Dior probably liked to see us!
