Green in resin minor
With "Casino Elixir 2.0" I was attracted by the fact that it is a bestseller and basically an independent (fusion) fragrance by Dua. So that was set for my first order there. However, I was also weak on "Moss Br..." er "Chypre Supreme", as I unfortunately never got to pick up or even smell the discontinued Tom Ford classic, it's quite hard and prohibitively expensive to get these days. Since "Chypre Supreme" is a very successful alternative, although of course I can not make a comparison and in the reason also no "Dupes" in my collection in the long run wanted to have. However, these are just all the more viable reasons to review this unusual greenie from Dua quite objectively and on its own. So I own and test here quite clearly "Chypre Supreme", not the clone of "Moss Breaks"!
"Chypre Supreme" lets moss meet resins - in a pretty epic and hefty battle! Almost more beeswax than herb garden, I didn't necessarily have to expect this power fougere like this. But I'm even more pleased to find it so potent and special. I really like this cuddly and tart nature boy right away. The quality and density and "fade" is sublime. Such a texturally rich green is usually more expected from Serge Lutens and co. Dua did a killer job here on more levels than one. Because connoisseurs also chirped to me that the fragrance is eerily close to the model. "Chypre Supreme" combines the two oldschool genres of chypre and fougere, and even adds a fair dash of gourmand-grippy qualities to them. And it never gets too much for me. Honey. Patchouli. But still distinctly green in my mind. But definitely not green behind the ears. An oakmoss sledgehammer! Please do not put in the hands of boys...
Flacon: here fits the sticker and the color very well - nevertheless, this often seems with Dua rather very cheap and "amateurish" photoshoppig.
Sillage: strong hearty hearty good
Shelf life: 10 hours and much more - here turns Dua really almost always mercilessly on!
Verdict: "Chypre Supreme" is a premium, resinous and timeless fougere full of unconditional masculinity and greenness in all its facets. High quality, different, colossal. Sweet and tart at the same time. Classic, almost in a Tom Ford way?!
