An Amazing Barbershop
When I first got Royal Portugal and tried it, I hated it. It was too heavy for me, and too spicy. Then I got around to try other barbershops and grew a liking for the genre and now I love this scent.
The scent opens up with a very citrusy and spicy vibe, I can feel woody notes and bergamot along with Lavender. This spicy vibe remains through out the life of the scent. So does the feeling of sitting in a good quality barbershop, smelling the foams and leathers and other nuisances that we get in a barbershop.
After around 15-20 mins, the spiciness gets more balanced and you start getting a comforting powdery vibe from the scent. I feel more lavender here. The projection kind of drops here a bit, and I still get whiffs, but they are not as strong as earlier.
After 5-6 hours, I start getting a richer vibe from the fragrance and it becomes stronger again, which is due to the presence of sandalwood, and it smells amazing. It gives a creamy texture to the scent. Smooth creamy, slightly sweet sandalwood along with bergamot and spices make this fragrance wonderful.
The longevity of the frag is amazing. It has been giving me 8-10 hours regularly.
I cannot compare this with Bois Du Portugal, as I have not tried that, but stand alone, this fragrance is a gem and needs more attention and love from the community, especially if you like barbershop fragrances.
