Persephony's self-control
Imagine cardamom, coffee, plum, honey and patchouli being put together into a perfume. Each of these notes have such a strong character, that one would expect a thick and heavy winter fragrance. This Electimuss does so, but in a slightly different way.
Persephone's Patchouli opens with a fresh cardamon and warmer notes like plum and vanilla. It takes a while before the patchouli becomes noticeable. It has a velours-like dusty texture and a cleaner than usual profile. I get little to no earthy or funky parts. Possibly because it does not come with the big labdanum overdose that is done a bit too often nowadays. Underneath there are subtle hints of coffee and a woody-amber base sweetened by honey.
With all these bold flavours, Electimuss managed to achieve a delicate balance of freshness, warmth and elegance. But this paragon of perfumery skills places a such firm restraint on those bold vivacious characters. It kept me hoping for one of those individuals to lose its self-control and erupt in heretic madness. All stops out. Of course, that did not happen.
