In the rum pot frenzy
My mother sent my cousin and me to the basement to get a jar of compote.
We looked around there - and my base spotted a rather large stone pot on the top shelf - labeled " Rum Pot ".
She's a little older and a little taller than me - and has always been a little cheekier.
The auspicious clay pot in lofty heights did not let us rest.
So she climbed onto the bottom shelf - and I pushed and supported from behind.
Schwupp - she had pushed aside the wooden lid and quickly put an alcohol-soaked plum in her mouth.
I was also handed a fruit down.
I have to say that we were about 6 and 8 years old - and still very inexperienced in dealing with alcoholic beverages - but we could already tell that the pickled fruit tasted good.
But after enjoying some of the fruit, our position faltered and we fell into the adjacent potato crate.
Whoopee ! What fun!
Either the Hansa potatoes were a good jumping off point - or the booze had dulled our sense of pain.
Anyway, we squealed with delight and threw Hansa at each other - mainly boiling solid.
Meanwhile, my mother looked in - and immediately grasped the situation.
Rin inne potatoes - raus ausse potatoes - and off to bed.
The delicious scent of La Diva reminds me of this episode - because here, too, the fruits seem as if they were pickled in rum - and buttery.
A fine honey note floats around the treats - rounded by vanilla and apart spiced with a pinch of pepper.
And remembering my first high, I felt a little tipsy.
