Interesting Facts
In 2015 the bottle design was changed. This fragrance is or was available in the concentrations 'Pure Fragrance' and 'Super Eau de Parfum'. At times this scent is referred to as Estee Super also. However, this is incorrect in so far that super refers to a concentration designation created by the house of Lauder. The advertisement introduced it as the first "super perfume".

Aldehydes, though not mentioned....?
It surpises me that aldehydes are not mentioned in this composition (they were mentioned as being present in the scent that was in their former bottle design) because I still find this very, very aldehydic! It is a bit less 'fatty' and sharp than the former formulation was, but it still is Estée!
I love this for being very fresh and 'cooling', but in a very different way than in most summer scents that are often more fresh from citrussy notes. Not everybody will find this a distinct 'summer scent' though. I do, because of it's soapy- and cool vibe.
But many people may find this more suitable for other seasons. I, for instance, smell hardly any sweetness in Estée, but my sister (who's signature is First from Van Cleef & Arpels) find this very (too) sweet. So it might depend on ones chemistry.
I always smell the white Dove bar in Estée (I love the white Dove bar:-)) and like to wear this on more formal occasions like job interviews or work-meetings.
The Jasmine and Lily of the Valley are very beautyful balanced in this scent, I can smell the Lily of the Valley asif I just plucked the real flower.
The only downside of this beautyful fragrance for me is that I suffer from olfactory adaptation with this scent: I know others smell it when I'm wearing this, telling me they love it, but I can't smell it on myself after some time. And because I wear my perfumes not just for others, but also (or mainly) to enjoy it myself, that is too bad....Other than that, beautyful fragrance!
