Retro-futuristic clean skin
I love the 1995 anime of Ghost in the Shell (never watched any other versions). It's an absolute classic.
This perfume doesn't catch the gritty atmosphere of the film, but it's nevertheless interesting and maybe even a bit cyborg-like.
The opening is very fresh and soapy with a burst of bitter, zesty yuzu. It really has a new plastic note, but underneath it is a warm jasmine and something else that gives it a skin-like feel. The bitterness of the first blast calms down quickly, so the plastic feeling isn't as aggressive anymore. It smells like a soft plastic doll that was washed with a very astringent citrus soap. And why shouldn't a cyborg's skin smell similar to that of a doll?
The texture of the scent is a bit milky, which makes sense as ELDO lists a "milky skin accord" on their official site (it's called "sensual skin accord" on Parfumo as I'm posting this). It's not a realistic milk note though.

This is a very clean, intentionally synthetic scent. I find it more feminine than masculine. I don't think this is the future of perfume like the marketing says, to me it feels more 90s retro-futuristic, which ties it to the anime again.
As I'm not a fan of in-your-face clean scents, this is not for me, but I found it interesting to sample and like it for what it is.

mothercyborg
If I had to describe this scent, I'd ask you to imagine the most perfect looking human ever, with soft and smooth skin and no BO, no hair, no discoloration. Almost like a cyborg, too-perfect imitation of a human. Now imagine that person breastfeeding. That's how Ghost in the shell smells to me.
This scent is definitely unique, but I would say it is not that weird/off-putting, so it would be ok for someone trying niche perfumes for the first time. It is not for a god option for a blind buy, though. And test it straight on the skin.

What the **** did I just smell????
Well, I'm glad I did not wear this to the office. I was excited to try it because it smelled interesting and fresh on a strip of paper. On my skin it was a different story. I can't say I was disappointed, because I knew this was going to be an odd one. Sort of the way CdG Odeur 53 or Andrea Maack Coven are odd ones, right? But this is decomposing vinyl and hot rubber. Definitely not something I want my own body to be giving off the vibes of. I couldn't even handle smelling it on my shirt the next day. If you are looking for synthetic or vinyl or rubber or artificial intelligence or creepy.... look no further.

Flesh of armor
I got the discovery set from Etat Libre d'Orange, sprayed once on each of my wrists and twice on my neck. Also a bit congested at the moment, so I will retry gladly when I've recovered. On paper, it had absorbed a lot of the blotter's scent and smelled sort of generically clean, perhaps like the outside of a glass bottle. On my skin, it comes in with a clinical yuzu, tinged with some sort of cold ferric note. It projects very briefly, perhaps thirty minutes, then settles like a thin film of metal tegument, flecked with a chilled white floral. As it develops, it seems to melt, merging with y skin into a rubbery milk. I don't find that the yeastiness or clove elements emerge into any sort of natural body musk for me, mostly just like a dust. I really enjoy this scent, find it very airy and wearable, not too strange. Creamy without being sour. Shame it doesn't last very long on me.

I am very new to the world of perfume, so I am having a lot of fun with exploring new ingredients. From my very brief study interlude, I've discovered Aqual is an aldehydic captive created to replace lilial, slightly green, but mostly watery and diffusive. It bolsters the natural citrus juiciness of the yuzu in the top note with a white floral and marine quality. Mugane is the corresponding alcohol to the aqual molecule, and it blends with other lily of the valley scents (I've seen it before with jasmine like here, and I think I've seen it also paired with orris)? Hexyl acetate also has a fruity green note, leaning into pear, although I get the crisp wateriness of it initially, I don't get its smell. Vinylguaiacol is an aroma component of buckwheat, important for distilled spirits, lending sweetness and smokiness in things like whiskey, rum, peanuts, chocolate, spice, and so on -- somebody online (https://basenotes.com/community/threads/any-experience-with-4-vinyl-guaiacol.544907/) said that on its own it smells clove-like, fine and soft (like isoeugeol); then has a bit of the sterile smell (like guaiacol? / phenol), then very slightly vinegary (like acetic acid, perhaps lending to the fermented smell?). I think orcanox is the ambrette molecule that provides woody, powdery muskiness and longevity which is synthesized from "sclareol, a natural compound extracted from exhausted clary sage."

reality-warping, neon city, mechanical-limbed artificial absurdity
As a long-time anime and manga fan, I was of course never not going to be drawn in by the reference to Masamune Shirow’s Ghost in the Shell, a stylish and strange cyberpunk neo-noir in which exists a world wherein people merge with machines, and boasts an iconic storyline that asks consciousness-expanding questions and examines what makes us fundamentally human. Notions of philosophical inquiry aside, The Ghost in the Shell from Etat Libre d’Orangeis a confused, chaotic concoction that makes you think someone fed a bunch of molecules to an AI and tasked it with creating a perfume. There’s a head-scratchingly metallic green floral note, a synthetic fruit that winks in and out of existence–a sort of speculative lactonic peach– and a plastic, prosthetic musk alongside a pungent, bittersweet note that veers between cumin’s weird, woody funk and a rotten belly button infection. And sure you can be grossed out by that, but we’ve all got human bodies and they all occasionally do stinky human things, so simmer down. Lazy people who have ever gotten their navel pierced are intimately familiar with this aroma. The funny thing is, it’s possible that I like Ghost in the Shell and its reality-warping, neon city, mechanical-limbed artificial absurdity. When it works, it’s a really playful and unique skin scent. When it doesn’t, it’s a cyborg with digitized BO. But I’m not sure I’d take my chances with the purchase of a full bottle, let alone a bespoke upload of it directly to my olfactory cortex.

One of the best offers in the last few years, aquatic, synthetic, floral, clean, versatile, warm, it's crazy how well they mix everything.

Synthetic smelling, sickly sweet dairy-floral. Intriguing and different, but not something I would want to wear. A polarising fragrance.
