The Liquor of the Gods
Cognac is a special kind of brandy made in France. Victor Hugo called cognac the "liquor of the gods." It's become known as a symbol of French luxury, and the best brandy money can buy (yes, cognac is a brandy). Here's a primer on the liquors. Well, why am I talking about cognac? Bearing all this in mind, I sprayed on some Whisky for the first time. Its olfactive family is something in between Amber Oriental Fougère

The opening of Whisky is noticeably geared towards a boozy and vanillic accord, which shouldn't be a big surprise given its name. The clary sage is dominant and infuses a vibe similar to a warm cognac-like Courvoisier or Remy Martin, which are brandies and not whiskeys. The green cinnamon leaves add a velvety and spicy tone to the opening, while the juicy pineapple keeps the whole accord fresh and a bit fruity. Oh man, this is really a bargain and I didn't expect such a niche and top-notch quality. Something is appealing in it, a smoky touch with the cheap bakery vanilla that gives it a certain charm, it's a vanilla scent but not a sweet one. I, for one, really enjoy vanilla based fragrances, such as this, because it adds a certain smoothness to the presentation. Whisky is more of a fresh, powdery, and woodsy type of scent. Beyond the vanilla note, the bergamot and the lavender are also quite tangible and give this cologne an additional warmth and smoothness.

Then it shifts to a spicily and aromatic heart of tar geranium sweetened with floral lilac and lily of the valley. The powdery vanillic is still lingering in the background balancing the heart accord.

The intricate base notes include smooth vanilla. The sweetness is reinforced by roasted tonka beans that add a touch of smokiness, a bit of creaminess proper of the sandalwood, and a final touch of white musk. The base notes are expertly blended and are sweet, but not cloying. I particularly like the dry vanilla-tonka bean finish.

Men who are not afraid to show their strength and vulnerability wear this scent with confidence in any event during colder months. Those men are classy and elegant, simple but yet sophisticated. Men with such a class can only perfect their style with this cologne.
Overall, I would say Whisky is an excellent choice for a wintertime cologne or even during the colder days of Fall. That's when this cologne performs at its best. It is a fundamental and reasonably inexpensive scent for guys to try out and maybe develop into daily wear. It's not something that will make you stand out as unique, and perhaps that's a good thing for some guys. Thanks to its amber and gourmand accords, it's something that performs well in a seductive fire-lit environment or the frosty night air. That said, its composition would be right at home during the golden autumn season or even in the first rays of sunshine of spring. It tends to be a cologne more adapted to younger men. That said, it's perfectly wearable for any modern man throughout his twenties. Similarly, it's a fragrance best suited for wearing out night thanks to its oriental connotations.
Both Whisky's sillage and longevity perform admirably with a refined yet powerful trail over the entire day. While the projection is somewhat weaker, this makes the sillage much more effective. Whisky gives tantalizing whiffs for a seductive reveal when closer.

Oh man, this is really a bargain and I didn't expect such a niche and top-notch quality. It's boozy, built around smoky and bakery vanilla!
