Grey is not always grey
In our village there is a small painting school, which is run by two artists (mother and daughter). My children had attended one or the other course there years ago. One of the two ladies said at the time that after the events she would always simply tilt up the many small paint remnants. This would result in a lively grey, in contrast to a grey mixed only of black and white.

A fragrance knitted around iris and frankincense meets a place deer in my collection, namely has to face the comparison with the great '1681' by Carthusia, the undoubtedly greyest fragrance from my collection. But what a warm, living, enveloping dark grey that is!

Citizen X', on the other hand, goes a completely different way. After a hint of aquatic freshness, a strong charge of pepper immediately sweeps through, quickly followed by light wood and iris. A combination, which often harmonizes quite well, but which is a bit musty at the moment. But it clears up, light resin with citrus-fresh ambitions (probably taken from the spectrum of incense possibilities) as well as with a synthetic flap that makes me think of solvents - which reminds me of 'Nudo' by Morph on the one hand, while on the other hand greeting from far away in the style of the Black Afghan. First and foremost, however, the light, over-twisted artificial wood from the MGO fragrances or from Filippo Sorcinellis 'Nebbia Fitta' comes into my mind.

It is not just the iris that falls behind, today it is only a (cooling) remedy where it could still be an end in Carthusia. Even the colleagues promised for the base have a hard time. Anyway, I imagine under "ambriert" with woods other than a touch of sweetness. And although the musk is certainly not clean-white, it can hardly do more than set a slightly animal accent. He is grey and remains grey, even as he gradually takes over the direction in the course of the afternoon and finally in the evening takes over a skeleton-dry, sinusoidal almost sole control.

And so the bow is made to the beginning. The overall fragrance is of light grey, produced from individual, sharply contoured aromas, not from a luxuriant variety. It stays as cold to me as electronic music.

Not that he didn't deliver in his own way. It exudes a lasting and reliable woody, even wooden freshness throughout the day. Thus our 'Citizen X' is in almost involuntary, bitter comedy exactly the way that politics prefers the citizen: It works.

I thank Garcon for the rehearsal.
