For Old Times Sake
I bought a small vintage of Babe just for old time's sake. I never wore it, but I smelled it on girls in the 70's. It's not quite an oriental and not quite a chypre. but has properties of both by being at once lush and mossy. I've tried to identify what makes this scent sweet rather than sensual, pleasantly earthy rather than dark. It must be the raspberry and honey and carnation. It smells like a fragrance for women who like the daytime more than the night, who prefer fruity cocktails to vintage wines. Like its name, Babe is for babes, not for vamps. Marilyn Monroe vs Marlena Dietrich. It's a good, clean, fun scent that reminds me of times gone by.
