One summer day in my childhood
It is a sunny and cheerful scent, just as I expected. Once again a blind buy based on the name, description and a pretty-looking bottle – this time, a successful one. The matt texture of the coating mimics terracotta and is almost warm to the touch. Plus, it makes the bottle non-slippery, which is a bonus with my butter fingers. The shape of the bottle that delicately alludes to feminine body is also ergonomic. This is a very simple and fortunate design. I can imagine this on a bathroom shelf, waiting to be used just after the shower.

The herbal spiciness that comes from citruses combined with marigolds makes it almost unisex, but it’s not too harsh and I quite like it. When I smell it on my skin it’s almost a masculine scent, but then the delicate scent emanating from my hair and clothes is pure marigolds. In the evening, amber and musk begin to warm and sweeten the scent and it becomes more feminine. It is sunny, fresh, and clean without soapiness, which is a real mood booster. A “happy woman” indeed! Simple, modest, and delightful - just as marigolds themselves!

Maybe I like it so much because I have some happy memories associated with this scent – well, not this one exactly, but something very similar. My classmate and childhood friend used to smell like this. I don’t know whether it was her shampoo, her perfume, or the conditioner her mother used for her clothes, but it followed her always. I thought she smelled delightful and sophisticated – mind you, I was twelve at the time, so everything beyond strawberry and vanilla was “sophisticated”.
