"After Love Island, let's go ...
... It's beautiful on Love Island ..." says the operetta "Frau Luna" by Paul Lincke.
Of course, there was no "Île d'Amour" by Fragonard at that time; but it is quite nice to get to know this love island better.
Thanks to Ttfortwo I had the opportunity to visit them with the perfume.
I am greeted by the charming Rosenresli with a strong cup of Osmanthus tea; still a specialty for lovers and also very welcome here.
The rose fields, which once surrounded Grasse in such large numbers, are still present with a full surge of fragrance: the queen of flowers sends her greetings!
Our tea table is so happily placed that the other flower classics of this blessed region can also wave to us generously with their fragrance banners The three timeless and almost feminine aromas of lily of the valley, lilac and jasmine come together in this somewhat old-fashioned creation; they wrap it in filigree old lace in a fine ivory tone!
They also seem to bring delicate parasols with them: they are nice and lovely, as they nestle on the scent of roses and the aroma of tea.
The musk irritates me somewhat; I would have pleaded here for vanilla: it could have made this beauty of scent warmer and rounder according to my feeling.
For me musk has a few small spines that make "Île d'Amour" seem a little uncomfortable.
Almost as if I was sitting on a somewhat uncomfortable chair while drinking my tea in this flowery idyll.
Even a tastefully dosed ambergabe cannot change this.
But this is my very personal opinion; in the house of Fragonard one certainly thought of something with exactly this composition of scents: yes, it has something!
A touch of slightly soapy purity (probably thanks to musk) and flowery nostalgia form a likeable fragrance - no "femme fatale", but also no boring lice.
"Île d'Amour" is a friendly and graceful woman who can be the right companion for many occasions without attracting much attention.
An almost constant fragrance over several hours; you will search in vain for highs and lows here.
To visit this "love island" is surely a nice intermezzo: a light flirt with a good cup of tea in beautiful floral surroundings!
No more, no less!
