Would It Be Better Sprayed On?

I tested this from a complimentary towelette enclosed in a Fragonard catalogue. I appreciate that the mimosa isn't overly sweet but there is an underlying scent that is almost chemical. I wish I knew what was causing that. Bad blending or notes that clash?
While convenient, the towelette doesn't exactly give the full experience of the perfume, so maybe that is the issue. I suspect this might have to be sprayed on to get the full measure. Since I am not the biggest fan of mimosa or lilac in the first place, except in a few rare instances, I'm not willing to buy a bottle to find out.

Bit of a disappointment

I blind bought Belle de Grasse in search for a replacement for, sadly discontinued, Kenzo Summer.
Well, it is very different. Kenzo Summer had a more creamy, make-up-y mimosa scent. More fluffy, soapy and airy. Belle de Grasse is a very distinct mimosa. The heliotrope in this, leaves me with a 'marzipan' kind of smell which is too 'compact' and it does not change in it's development.
I would only advise this when you love mimosa the way you smell the flower directly, right under your nose and are willing to smell like that the whole day through. In that aspect - creating a realistic mimosa - Fragonard did a very good job.
It's a kind scent, not offending, it just doesn't thrill me and is not what I hoped it to be. Longevity and sillage however, I find better than the ratings for that suggest.

(sorry my english, I'm italian)
I was looking for a perfume that had Mimosa. I love Farnesiana.
I thought maybe Kenzo's Summer could satisfy my craving,but ebay prices hurt my pockets.
So, I decided to try Belle de Grasse and it was love.
Summer and mimosa get married. In the opening a hint of green leaves of violet, dewy.
Upon opening I notice a very slight bergamot note on my nose, I receive more notes of heliotropic mimosa and musk. A very gentle musk.
Too bad for the sillage.
But summer is assured.
