Quite a festive scent for Christmas!
"Panettone" came to my mind right upon the first sniff.
Quite a festive scent for Christmas! The nutmag and orange are commonly applied to Christmas food and beverage, such as stollen and Glühwein. Brown sugar highlights the sweetness of the pastry. Meanwhile leather neutralizes the gourmand tone a bit.

Sweet sweet nutmeg
The only genres/notes etc that I generally dislike are aldehydes, fresh rose, chypres and fougeres. I tried Teisenddu back when it was buzzy a few years ago and did burn through my entire sample; but there was just something about the prevalent citrus/nutmeg/juniper that rang a bit too “fougere” on me; a little too masculine-traditional-cologne-esque if you will…

For some reason at the end of this brutal summer I suddenly went through a “must have the best” nutmeg fragrance quest (I think others with too-large collections will relate to these); which was definitely hampered by my fougere-dislike. Obviously that meant I needed to revisit Teissendu.

It’s still not gourmand on me, I don’t really get the cakey-baked goods so many people raved about when it came out…. BUT! If you too are all about the nutmeg this delivers. It’s perfection, like freshly grating it over a slightly spiced dough.

I don’t get the best longevity and definitely have to reapply throughout a work day, but it’s absolutely worth it.

I love that it manages to be only delicately sweet; it’s more redolent of the smell of the baking process and less the finished pastry on me.

I still think it leans masculine but I no longer find it prohibitively so. (Maybe because I tested so many truly masculine nutmeg heavy fougeres!!). It’s a gorgeous fragrance Im glad I revisited.

Spices & Xmas
Take a variety of spices: nutmeg, cloves, black pepper, ginger, cinnamon, vanilla, orange peel, rum and molasses (or a little dark honey in its absence). Make dough and bake yummy brown gingerbread cookies - let your home be filled with the aromas of these spicy Christmas baked goodies today. :)

A familiar story, smelled this 100 times already. Generic, sweet sugar tint on my skin, lack of every fantasy. Very feminine, don't blindbuy
