Black tea with a shot
A cool winter's day. In the afternoon under soft blankets. Outside. Strong black tea steams on the table. Candy is generously added before a sip of rum is added. The freshly cooked quince jelly is ready to be enjoyed. There is a hint of vanilla tobacco in the air.
Thé Arabique is pretty much exactly this scene for me. Warm. Slightly boozy. And a touch too sweet for a tea fragrance for me. But my goodness, is it special. A strong black tea fragrance that is almost smoky. Sweet quince and an almost coconutty vanilla towards the end. The pleasure only lasts an afternoon. But it is a wonderful afternoon.
