Un-Love
From smelling Yavana, I realize that it's either Carnation or Lily-of-the-valley that can deliver a scent I just don't love when combined in the wrong way with other scents. It's probably lily because I instantly disliked Jovoy's Lys Epona (while loving other Jovoys) and it doesn't have carnation, only lily. Yavana and others also stopped me buying scents blind. This 54 year old fragrance does have a very grandmotherly smell to me though many even older fragrances don't. The bergamot, neroli and lemon work beautifully as top notes, giving a luxurious but fresh feel, the amber, moss and vanilla base is wonderful. It's the flowers in the center that don't work for me, making me think of stale rooms and nursing homes. From the notes I thought I'd love it, but I don't.

p.s. The problem note is lily-of-the-valley.
