So wonderful and unattainable
Sigh! Here I am again. Mrs. Pollita, with the many discontinued fragrances in her collection. Sometimes I have the feeling that the fragrances I love are not made for long periods of time. Sometime my backups of the beloved discontinued scents will run out too. But Mrs. Huhn is patient and tests diligently, hoping to find another beauty that suits her taste.
7:30 this morning. With fresh new snow I went into the woods and quickly applied a tiny spray of Fil Rouge. I had never heard of the fragrance before and hadn't thought anything special. And then fate took its course.
That scent captivated me, enchanted me. Yes, it's very simple and not really all that special. We have here mainly iris and finest musk. But both are so wonderfully composed and so tender that I melt away, just like the snow under my feet at a plus degree.
I can only guess at the aldehydes here. I'm not usually an aldehyde fan. Most of the time I find these typical classics from Chanel & Co. too soapy. But I can't perceive any soap here. But first a slightly carrot-like iris and later the musk cloud takes over and leads me over the sugared ground. How well that fits together! Alas, sigh!
I see parallels here to two of my favourites. We have a relationship with Hilde Solianis Il Vs Iris (who unfortunately is also discontinued) and with Nasomattos Silver Musk. Where the Nasomatto is already tender, Fil Rouge is even more tender. As if you were wearing a white, cuddly cotton dress. Not an opulent evening gown, not a wedding dress. No. Just a very simple, plain and yet so wonderfully beautiful cotton dress. In addition, the Solian Iris brings a very small tiny sweetness into play.
Yeah, it smells like Pollita. It sure does. Unfortunately, he's out of reach for me because he's not available anywhere
Gandix, my dear, what have you done to me?
