The introverted colleague from next door
Hi folks,

today I'm going to talk about the Armani Code EDT from 2023. As soon as the fragrance came onto the market, I ordered it blind, after hearing from a few places that you can't go wrong with the fragrance. No sooner said than done, I bought the code from the big "F" at a top price for a fragrance that had just been launched,

The perfume is a pleasant, fresh, sweet and very rounded fragrance. At the beginning, the mandarin dominates and as it progresses, the Armani Code becomes creamy and beautifully woody. The wearer does nothing wrong with the fragrance. It is a crowdpleaser. BUT ... it is not a special fragrance where you get up in the morning and are already looking forward to ... boar the Armani Code right away, that would be something.
H/S is a lower mediocrity. After 4 hours, I personally smell very little of the fragrance. But I think that's exactly what Armani wanted to achieve with this serious gentleman's fragrance.

Let's keep in mind: Who is CODE suitable for?

For anyone who wants a daily fragrance that doesn't offend, is liked by everyone and doesn't make the wearer the center of attention. I would prefer to wear the fragrance in the office, as it would be far too weak on my chest in my free time (e.g. outdoors).

If this appeals to you, then you can give it a try. The price is particularly attractive. But too irrelevant for me. There are better alternatives for this type of fragrance.

Thanks for reading and have a nice evening.

Exclusivity is not everything!
I ignored this fragrance for a long time, even though I've been browsing fragrances in retail 30 times in the meantime. Not only does such a mass-produced fragrance usually attract little attention among perfumistas, but the well-known Youtubers from English-speaking countries also pay little attention to the fragrance, while discontinued fragrances such as Armani Code (2004) Eau de Toilette or Armani Code Absolu pour Homme are virtually celebrated.

Last week, the manufacturer's sample of Armani Code (2023) Eau de Toilette was included with a bottle purchase. I have to say I was thrilled, considering that a. the fragrance hardly gets any love and b. the price is very reasonable at around EUR 70 for 125 ml.

About the fragrance:
It starts fresh and tart and deep at the same time. The freshness diminishes on drydown. From the beginning to the end, a DNA remains that I still know from Emporio Armani...lui/il/he/él/男.... At the time, it was a hype fragrance that generated a lot of enthusiasm. I can't pin it down to the Internet and social media, because that was still the GOOD time of analog. But some very well-dressed men in my circle (family and acquaintances) wore it. I assume that this DNA is also the DNA of Armani Code (2004) Eau de Toilette, but I've never actually smelled it.

Anyway:
It is a fantastic fragrance that is wonderful to wear in the fall and winter, and certainly on less warm spring days, of which we have many in Germany.
I really like smelling it and am amazed at how you can create a fresh, tangy fragrance that is so wonderfully pleasing.
I don't think you should be confused by the reviews and the lack of attention on Parfumo. Many fragrances are celebrated here that are produced in Arab countries, for example, and cannot be bought in German stores. I've smelled a few of them as samples and can't tell that you're missing anything. There are certainly great fragrances there, the really expensive ones anyway, but I can't say that any EUR 50 fragrance that you can't get here is supposed to be superior to the usual designer turquoise. I think there's a lot of exclusivity thinking involved ("the average German man has no idea that fragrance X exists, I know about it and celebrate it"). That's not reprehensible, it doesn't harm anyone, but it devalues such bestsellers in Europe simply because of the lack of enthusiasm.
I assume that a great many men who own 1 or 2 fragrances that they receive as gifts from their partners own this fragrance. And if you want to smell totally exclusive and different, that's fine too. But that doesn't make this fragrance bad. It is very good. Sometimes it can be that simple.
What's more, most men in Germany don't wear perfume. You can read this on the Statista website, and this statistic also matches my everyday experience. This means that no one wearing Armani Code (2023) Eau de Toilette runs the risk of encountering "fragrance twins" on every corner.
So take courage: you don't have to smell unique. If you have to do something, then just "smell good".

About the bottle: I really like the smaller ones. The 125 ml size looks less appealing. The glass is heavy and finished with that smooth finish. The cap could be magnetic, but for the price it's no offense.

Nice to meet you, good bye Armani
I noticed that now the old version is called Classic and the “New” bottle format is simply Armani Code. This is an interesting move from Armani, probably to cash some more money from nostalgic customers.

Giorgio Armani's first oriental men's fragrance was the Code, now it is another flanker that we are dealing with.

THE SECRET: The midnight blue of the bottle evokes the famous Armani tuxedo worn by Denzel Washington on the occasion of the Oscar night.

The longevity is quite decent on my skin, a bit better than it was with the previous version. The mandarine + lavender combination is quite popular in the new released scents but it makes them boring and forgettable.

I was crazy about Armani Code around 2006, it was powerful, oriental and special. Today is only a shadow of its former self and makes no sense to get a bottle, better go with the Eau de Parfum (also discontinued).

The prices are very volatile, from 50€/USD to 100€/USD for no reason within days, so this makes buying a bottle even less attractive because you do not know if th price you paid today will not be half in the next day.

I guess L´Óreal in their might, are trying to kill of some brands and with Armani even if they have a license until 2050 stil, are already starting.

I like what Armani has done with Code EDT and ADG parfum. They are smoother and more wearable for my liking.

Powdery and sweet citrus with some wood notes and musk to round it out. This is a solid great smelling men’s scent with just okay performance.
