A gift
I was gifted Amarige in the early 1990s by a man who wanted to impress me with gifts. I loved the perfume, but I can’t remember the giver now in 2021.
It’s a lovely floral perfume, heavy on tuberose, which is why I love it so. I must have lost the bottle at some point during my many moves, so now it’s time to replace it after all these years.
I don’t want to relive the 90s, but it’s such a lovely scent that I can’t resist buying more.

The 50th - A golden wedding...
Early 90s, a balmy summer evening.
A French couple, already together for very many years, spend a few days together in Provence, far away from their home, Normandy.

Thierry, an extremely obliging, polite and sensitive gentleman in his late 60s, and his wife Antoinette, a delicate, fine and neat lady of the same age. They have rented a small bungalow beyond civilization.

It is a Sunday, the two are each relaxing in a lounger in the garden, holding hands, their faces turned skyward, eyes closed...
Birds chirping, butterflies hovering, bumblebees buzzing, the wind blowing, the Mediterranean a few miles away...
[...]

Suddenly Thierry stands up, doesn't say a word, smiles gently at his Antoinette...
Just like always, just like 52 years ago, when they met for the very first time, in the schoolyard...

He stands up, stands in front of her, gets down on his knees, takes her hands...
His Antoinette begins to tremble, in her legs, in her hands...
Thierry, "an angel on earth", as his Antoinette always affectionately calls him, reaches into his trouser pocket with one hand, pulls out a mini-box, opens it, a ring peeps out.... A ring unlike any other...
Delicate, as if made for Antoinette's delicate fingers; yellow-gold, with a silver diamond, simply angelic...

Antoinette is gobsmacked, is speechless, looks bizarrely at the ring, then deep into her Thierry's eyes, and the first tear rolls down.... She looks again at the ring, again at her soulmate, and asks incredulously:
"My angel, you're not going to... are you?" before she can finish the question, her husband interjects, "Yes, ma chérie, I am!"

... "My Antoinette... my heart, my soul, my life; my everything...
Fifty years it is now, to the day, do you remember then?" her husband tries to bring her memory of their wedding to life.
- "Of course I do my angel, like it was only yesterday..." she replies in a shaky nervous voice.
- "That's right... And I knew then: you are THE woman, you are THE one.... My heart, I hereby ask you: Will you be my wife once more?"

BOOM!
Antoinette breaks down, tears flowing down like Niagara River waterfalls, her entire body shaking like she's at the North Pole....

She goes down on her knees as well, feeling slain with happiness, hugging her Thierry as tightly as she ever has and whispering in his ear:

"My angel, I want to spend the next 50 years with you too..."

[...]
I wanted to dedicate my 50th comment to this noble bouquet of flowers. I got to know him through the dear Parfuma Alliage, and by the rating can be seen: I find him fabulously beautiful.

Not for myself I would buy him, but I see him clearly on a woman. This fragrance belongs in my eyes crystal clear to the ladies.

All too detailed I would like to give for once no description again.
This Amarige is roughly speaking a fruity-floral and in the base slightly oriental treasure, which is mMn best suited for the warmer days.
Very opulent, very strong and intense, with the floral notes in the foreground, but in a very impressive way for me personally.

A fragrance full of power, full of personality and full of charm, which underlines the femininity of a lady...

A fragrance that symbolizes beauty and happiness...

A fragrance for the radiant bride in summer...
[...]

Eventually he will move in - sea of blossoms
Amarige I've been kind of testing for several years. Off and on.

Every time, it's just the top notes that keep me from picking it up. For some reason the plum stings on my skin, but thankfully not for long.

The main accord says I like it, tuberose, natural gardenia, ylang ylang. Elegant white flowers all over. Clove as a very gentle counterpoint. This might like to radiate more presence for me.

Sometimes the tension moment is missing. A touch of freshness somewhere or a trace more spice is missing me. The flowers lose themselves a little. On some people it exudes possibly at some point something slightly sour sparkling. The fruity notes are definitely in there, they just don't come out as well on me as the beautiful florals.

With Amarige, it's like Star Trek Voyager for me, it's really good, but not my biggest favorite of the floral scents.

If there's ever a good deal and I happen not to miss it, though, it will move in.
Sometimes you have to wait until the right moment is there. However, with composure. Everything does not always have to seem directly suitable.

The base is very warm.
Quite appealing, but almost too warm. Here I would have found more spice or more creaminess great.

Overall, however, not a bad fragrance at all.
On the contrary.

I love you, I love you not, I love you...
...I don't love you... oh mon dieu... It's too flowery, too fruity, too sweet, too green, too confused, too messy. When I apply it I have the feeling of being hit by a wave of flowers, but there is a sweetness in the background that I can't define and gives me a headache. Although the pyramid tells me what's inside, I can't recognize a single scent, the bottle is misleading...it looks far too innocent for this perfume.
There is no way it is an office fragrance, many a colleague would jump out of the window voluntarily, the Sillage can hold a candle to Alien...I would wear it on a first date, in spring...when the sun's rays gain more power and you are sitting outside. If a breath of air catches this perfume and carries it over to the beloved one, it will definitely cloud his senses...and that's what we want, isn't it? Because Mändels, in Drydown this scent fits together like a puzzle and everything fits together wonderfully...it's soft, round, lush in short female elegant and innocent *cough*...just like the bottle ;-)

THE good mood perfume for cloudy days!
Right after the first spraying, the voluminous flower-fruit cocktail conjures up a radiant smile on your face; I feel the same way every time and that's why I love this affordable, lively fragrance so much! It attracts attention and cheerful young ladies will underline their personality perfectly. Rather shy ladies will be delighted by the red cheeks in view of the flirted joie de vivre that will surely reveal itself!
There are similarities with "Giorgio Beverly Hills" in the yellow and white striped edition, where
but this one is more sophisticated and not as carefree as "Amarige"

Fruity-floral all-rounder
Dabbed, not sprayed:

First, the fruits come around the corner. But the flowers can also not be long Bitten and together they flaunt for a while around. It is mildly fruity, slightly soapy, delicately floral-sweet and also a little powdery. Over the course of the first hour, Amarige retreats to closer to people and is then a nice all-rounder, joined by light woody notes over time. After about 2 hours, the scent hovers right over the skin. The shelf life is with me 5 - 6 hours.

I like Amarige well, but a "must have" he is not now

SHE HIT ME (AND IT FELT LIKE A KISS)
My first fragrant love.
Amarige.

I initially laid my nose upon this glorious scent in the library of a school where my mother had a temporary role as deputy head.

The head teacher wore Amarige. She strutted around shouting the odds. Had a real attitude problem, as my mother saw it.
She was headstrong and aggressive in her demeanor. I thought she was at once hilarious and cool as all hell.
Dry wood, warm yellow and white flowers.
Bookshelves and plants.

We went to IKEA and she had me trailing behind her pushing the trolley full of her pickings. Nothing, and nobody, stood a chance against the stench of Amarige.

Love! Power! Independence!

My second encounter was in the kitchen/dining area of my mother's childhood friend, Sheila. She lived atop a windy hill and her husband was a photographer specializing in black and white landscapes.
As I sat on a long wooden bench beside her large wooden kitchen table, I breathed in the delectable scent of freshly baked bread mingling with Amarige.

I asked, "What is that flowery smell?"
My mother responded: "AMARIGE! I've always HATED Amarige! It's Sheila's signature scent!"
Such venomous spite toward my beloved, Amarige!!!!
The best tuberose and cedar-wood based concoction in the world.

I will always return to my Amarige.

Alien flower juice
Cool fresh tuberose. Sweet milky white and metallic.
Venomous as snake bite.

Mutant spawn of Poison and Sécrétions Magnifique.

Utterly audaceous. Insanely powerful.
Totally unwearable.

Fabulous.

Jumpers, jeans and autumn leaves
From the plethora of notes listed I can only really detect neroli, rosewood and cassia in the opening. Then the base notes emerge and that's where Amariage settles quietly on me becoming a woody-vanillary-ambery-musk. It's a pretty, comforting and well-made perfume that lingers for hours and reminds me of autumn leaves, but to my mind it's not an especially complex one. Judging by the wide range of responses here it seems that how you experience Amariage will have a great deal to do with your skin chemistry as Missk says.

It seems like a monoghraphy about tuberose and ylang ylang. Sweet and femininin, sunny and romantic. Its name is the anagram of "mariage"
