Eau de cologne apothicaire
There's a medicinal feel to this that reflects Granado's roots in the apothecary, but broadly speaking it's a strange watery brew of herbs, flowers and evergreens along the lines of an Hermès Jardin, just not as finely worked.
It has a certain bouyancy but it also feels a bit gauche and old fashioned (which is no surprise given the name) and it reminds me of the classic Italian style Cologne with greens and citrus, although the citrus doesn't come through in that bright sunlit way and the impression is more of a darkened room with dusty flowers.
This is the first Made in Brazil perfume I've sniffed, and given its Portugese heritage I'd say it fits into the Southern European mould.
Not a bad effort, but I can't help thinking that modern materials have given it a cast the original wouldn't have had. And considering the price is over 100€ I can't recommend it.
