Gritti's streak of (un)inspired product continues here
My existing impressions of Gritti aren't the best. The two releases they had in 2022 were clear-cut dupes, one duping the Aventus/Elysium scent profile and the other duping Alexandria II. But this is a hit where I least expected one.
Initial impressions in the air: Very powdery, feminine. And it does not smell modern, smells 90s-like. Noticing some mild sweetness in the air. Quite sophisticated. As I smell it up-close, I get slight fruity cola vibes, reminding me of Tonka Cola or if Enigma was made for women, albeit an Enigma already exists for women (I just haven't tried it). The blend here isn't quite Roja-level.
After having worn it twice, the vibe on this is very different. The drydown is mostly a soft amber fragrance with clean-fresh floral tonalities and some sweetness. Drydown does not have any powderiness, and scent is indeed lacking on airiness too - sits a bit too close. You can definitely pick up on the fruity tones, but they're a bit too mild for my liking. Spring-fall, works for both day & night, I'd say it retains a feminine lean throughout. Not sure I'd buy for full retail, but I know existing resellers constantly have this on promo for 20-30%.
[EDIT]: This review was revised (by adding this paragraph) 3 months after trying this scent as I got more familiar with feminine profiles. I have, since this review, ran into this profile or a similar profile quite a few times. The first one was Explicite, and then subsequently Gold Immortals Eau de Parfum. Gold Immortals itself, per community votes, has inspiration/overlap with Cœur Battant.
