In dialogue with my brain
Yesterday a lovely perfume gave me a sample of Guerlain's Baiser de Russie as a small gift. I liked the first taster on the spray head and so I was allowed to take the sample home. This morning I took it with me on my run and was surprised what the scent would do to me.

It only took a few minutes, when I knew I knew him! Not exactly the same, but there was a fragrance in my youth that went in that direction and I had it for a while. My thoughts drifted towards the Amarige of Givenchy, which I had bought at that time during a holiday in France. The fragrance didn't stay in my possession for long after that, as it was all in all too flowery and woolly for me, and at some point I found it not quite suitable for me.
So I was with the green Guerlain and I thought to myself "this can't be right." We have here a green scent with gourmand overtones and a subtle sweetness base. It should be more in the direction of Douce Amère by Lutens. But it's not. My brain keeps saying it smells like Amarige. And when I calmly looked at the scents at home, I have to agree with my brain a bit. Of course Amarige has the more opulent scent pyramid with more complexity and a multitude of notes. Nevertheless, there are similarities here and they are not exactly few.

Already in the top note, the plum starts off with the plum, which is quite prominent in both fragrances. As much as I would have liked to perceive Absinthe at Baiser de Russie, I can't find it (for comparison, wear SL Douce Amère with a clearly visible green fairy). The green that penetrates to me probably comes from the pine needles, which however always remain in the background. In my heart I first perceive the fine jasmine note, which is simply perfectly integrated in Baiser de Russie. This is how I like jasmine. As a light chord in the background, recognizable but not screaming loudly, but only whispering. We also find this - tadaa - again with Amarige, just like the berry notes, which I can also make out very well. With sandalwood, tonka, musk and vanilla, both fragrances have four things in common in the base. And lo and behold. I am not crazy. There is indeed a lot of Amarige in Baiser de Russie.

If you like this direction, but find Amarige, like me, a bit too opulent and wormlike, you might like this green Guerlain. He is altogether also a little more lovely and sweet, even if I would not classify him as a gourmand. The bottle is absolutely adorable! I'm still not sure if I want to have it myself, as the relationship with Amarige was more of a short liaison. But I am happy to have gotten to know this fine fragrance. Thank you, my dear Susan!

Let the biter kiss you :D
Today I come to one of the new fragrances from Guerlain that came out this year: Baiser de Russie. I know that meringue is not pronounced like biter (although I'm afraid I can do everything by now...), which might make you think of the biter from the zombie series The Walking Dead :D

On the other hand the biter was also a very well-known opponent from the James Bond movies, who could even bite through steel ropes and scent bottles (no!). Although he has only appeared in two films, he has probably remained in the memory of the audience like no other.

In reality, Baiser, which is actually pronounced in a way similar to "Bäseee" or something like that, is a meringue made from sugared egg white, which I probably haven't eaten myself for a long time. However, I loved it as a child and probably drove my parents into madness, because they didn't really like this pastry and I distributed many crumbs on the floor by my nibbling,... oh what were those still for wonderful times, he he he :D

The fragrance should be, as far as I know, a kind of "remake" of Guerlains Une Ville, Un Parfum - Moscov, but unfortunately I don't know the Moscov fragrance from this collection, so I can't compare it with it. But no matter, let's see how the scent smells here!

The fragrance:
Hm, at the beginning I smell sweetly powdery scents, which actually remind me a little of meringue (at least I think...), that must be the interplay of the generally sweet notes like caramel and jasmine. There is a bergamot to sniff out in the background, but you have to smell it here to be able to spot this citric fruit. A little plum is present, besides, the smell seems to be quite slightly resinous, whether this is however at the indicated pine needles, I cannot say.
The caramel or the sweetish notes in general become stronger a little later, and I smell floral notes that I cannot determine.
Vanilla and tonka bean are now added to the base. This gives the fragrance a powdery sweetness and... oh you know how vanilla smells and so :D So it stays nice with a very weak, fruity touch (still the plum) in the background.
As you can imagine, much later, as is so often the case, the scent only smells of vanilla :D (I don't mean that negatively, of course, because it smells good, but many scents smell quite similar in the late base).

The Sillage and the shelf life:
The fragrance starts off reasonably well, but the Sillage clearly decreases in less than 30 minutes, so that I only feel the charisma mediocre. It will smell next to you, but it could hardly be perceived at further distances.
The shelf life is mediocre, which means that the fragrance can be smelled on the skin for between six and eight hours, depending on the dosage.

The bottle:
The flacon is one of these beautiful bee flacons where bee motifs have been worked into the glass. It is filled with a greenish scented liquid, which makes the green ribbon on the neck of the bottle a perfect match. On the front there is a rectangular recess with an arched "roof" in which a gold-plated label has been embedded. As usual, a very nice bottle.

Soo, the scent has... as in most cases, become "Guerlain-gewohnt-gut" (you could almost abbreviate that with "ggg", if only it wouldn't suggest a laughing fit in the internet language :D).

The (dark) sweet scents smell nice, the scent is pleasant, but despite the sweetness not very intense strong or overwhelming, so that it is not only a scent for autumn, but you can also use it in spring. Whether during the day or in the evening it doesn't really matter, because it should always arrive well. Very tasty, as I sometimes say. Or biteable. Just don't let the biter bite you (... but please let MIR *seeeufz*!!! :DDD), he he he.
Yes, the scent is really worth a test!

from the scented patisserie: a very special vanilla slice
Whenever I read "Baiser de Russie", I can't help but think of a delicious treat on an old-fashioned cake doily.
My nose signals to my senses a rich vanilla slice with a fruity, floral filling and a caramel coating!
I know: it sounds cute, but it is!
After all, there are so many kisses in the world of patisserie: so why not Russian ones?

Plum and lemon make an interesting start; of course, bergamot is also part of it here. Interesting this fragrance entrée by the scent of pine needles, which were probably soaked for some time in absinthe. Thus, this ingredient took this unusual fragrance coloring.
Vanilla and the special aroma of tonka bean are immediately active on my skin; they dominate until the end, reinforced even more by the effect of white musk.
The result after a moment resembles a heavy, sweet whipped cream, to which the fruity-fresh mixture from the fragrances of the top notes were submerged.
The first surprising twist in this already so tempting sweetness has succeeded.
Cranberries lend their berry charm to the creation so far and I would not want to do without the enchanting jasmine blossoms: they ennoble with grace and femininity.
I slide into a generous scent embrace full of big-flowered sweetness - creamy white and comforting!
In the final blanket (the so-called "icing" or the "tableau") of this "vanilla cake" are two fragrances for which Venus is always happy to be the godfather: sensual sandalwood oil aroma and white musk in slightly "sinful" dosage.
(No, a sign "Only for adults" needs "Baiser de Russie" not!)

Sometimes it just has to be sweet and that sweets offer comfort, we also know!
Why then not fall back on this young fragrance composition from the house of Guerlain?
Not only XerJoff stands with me for exceptional and calorie-free desserts; Guerlain "can" also very tasty vanilla slices!

The longevity of "Baiser de Russie" on the skin is reasonable, and the thickening effect is pleasingly low.
A kind of "fragrance satisfaction of the senses" is this embrace certainly.

Quite an unusual comment - I know!
Originally, it was also to be called "From Russia with Love" - after the James Bond film; I had already developed a concept and filed it away in the appropriate drawer in my head.
But whenever I wore "Baiser de Russie," I saw myself standing in a patisserie in front of a large display case with opulent displays.
I just had to say, "For this, please a large portion! And yes!, it may be a little more!"

As a weak woman, I then gave in!
Maybe Guerlain's "Russian Kiss" sweetens the Sunday evening - who knows!
Enjoy it can in any case with a very good conscience!

Russia - beautiful, mysterious, transient and yet eternal
I finally got around to extensively testing this pistachio-toned cutie from Guerlain. The fragrance pyramid reads decadent like the Russian Tsar's court. Rough yet sweet as sin...
...She's old yet beautiful
I can't resist her
Powdered her old skin
Has rebuilt her breasts
She makes me horny, I suffer agony
She dances for me, I have to pay
She sleeps with me, but only for money
It's the most beautiful city in the world...
Moscow - Rammstein

Well Rau and loud as the quoted song is not this fragrance, however, some allusions are quite appropriate.
Wearing the fragrance reveals an extremely pleasing aroma pot. Sweet patisserie, slightly herbal aromas, all wonderfully interwoven and extravagant. One smells the "old" perfumery art of Guerlain, in a surprisingly new appearance. A truly beautiful fragrance that makes you want to wear it, to feel "elegant", but now for the but: the fragrance is very quiet, far removed from the noisy life of Moscow and its often exuberantly perfumed sophisticated women. You have to invest quite generously in this fragrance to keep it perceptible. In intensity, it is as quiet as a walk through lonely birch forests. A fleeting kiss of two lovers in the romantic expanses of the taiga. Nevertheless, this fragrance has enchanted me.
I see him rather in the feminine direction and he is in my opinion throughout the year a quiet but stylish companion.

Tea party with macarons
Thanks to a dear Parfuma I was able to ersouken me a bottling of this wonderful fragrance.
The first thing that comes to my mind is an image of fine ladies in lace blouses around the turn of the century, who enjoy their macarons in a flower garden.

I don't know if the green color influenced me but I smell pistachio vanilla macarons with marzipan topping. No idea how Thierry managed to do that, although there are no almonds and no pistachios in this scent. It's probably due to the combination of jasmine with vanilla and tonka bean. But please correct me if I'm wrong about that.

I still smell some lemon out of it, which takes the sultriness out of the scent and makes it smell very clean. It is suitable for summer for me as well.

The nice thing is that it remains consistently gourmandig, even after hours. The first impression remains and you can be sure that he does not tip in a completely different direction.

I think it's just delicious, balanced and wonderful. I could smell it all day.
