a lady in perfume
Turandot's first fragrance letter to me contained bottlings whose name and provenance deeply impressed me. I literally trembled with awe!
Among them was also "Guet Apens", this fragrance lady from Guerlain; how I wanted to write a comment at that time already, which seems appropriate to her beauty.
Only I made all the beginner's mistakes one can make: read too many comments, let myself be impressed by them; paid too much attention to and believed the fragrance pyramids, even if my nose told me otherwise.
In short: I let myself be seduced and simply no longer trusted my own senses and scent experiences!
Confused as I was, I lost all courage to write this comment, which was actually important to me. "Guet Apens" fell into the background - no: not into the ambush!
Honestly: I forgot about it! (Ashes on my head!)
It would have remained so, would I not currently try in my collection, in the various folders and the multiple small and larger tubes and atomizers, to gain some overview.
This is of course an unsuccessful endeavor, but so the rest of "Guet Apens" fell into my hands and now the time is ripe to appreciate this elegant fragrance composition in my very own way.
I trust my senses again and know that my scent perception and recognition has grown, matured over time.
In this I have a reliable friend whom I can trust; who rarely disappoints me.
A true fragrance lady enters the stage/room without much fuss; she is immediately present.
Nobody knows exactly how these women do it: they are "there", just have "that certain something"!
This self-evident, unexcited femininity also dominates "Guet Apens": peach and violet take a friendly bow, enjoy their early appearance and radiate their fragrant personalities.
Surprisingly, vanilla and amber also appear in the opening; they are not saved for the grand fragrance finale this time - with an impressive and elegant result.
In their own way, iris, orris root and cinnamon provide a subtly fragrant layer of powder over this already remarkable entrée. They are thus reminiscent of a cozy jacket that spreads light warmth without weighing you down.
What would a woman be without roses? That was also thought at Guerlain and probably selected particularly beautiful fragrance specimens, which give this subtle being its sensual femininity.
Jasmine and tuberose, both white and fragrance-intensive women verse, build a bridge to the base.
This base, my fragrance experience tells me, again consists of the classics:
Sandalwood - sensual, warm and of oily physicality; oakmoss in well-dosed power and, of course, musk: What would be a powdery women's fragrance without the appropriate musk edition?

But "Guet Apens" lacks just nothing. Why should also do without something that has proven itself?

Who is accompanied by her, can be sure: after a few hours of charming presence, "Guet Apens" says goodbye quietly and politely, leaving behind not only a touch of fragrance memory, but also a loving smile: goodbye, it was nice!
