today is "lily of the valley day
Yes, I know: today is the second Advent and also St. Nicholas.
But this year everything is different and why, I ask you, then today can not be "Lily of the Valley Day" with me? - Well, you see!
Our fragrance world has its own laws anyway: Welcome "Lily of the Valley Day"!
The French have, for whatever reason, the 1st of May to the "Lily of the Valley Day" chosen.
What a nice thought: instead of making noise and possibly even ruckus at demonstrations, to honor the spring through this pretty little bell.
Would we hear it on this occasion but also all ring.
Then we would know, it is the spring of itself and us still has so much to say.
And naturally also the trade makes enthusiastically with, above all naturally each enterprise that only somehow remotely with smells to do has.
Why not? Has but since Christian Dior's first so successful lily of the valley fragrance "Diorissimo" (how I loved it at the time!) This his fixed place also as a soloist in our fragrance orchestra!
The fragrance sample I have comes from one of the "Muguet Millésime 2018" flacon; a truly beautiful piece filled with "Muguet 2016".
All alone, Guerlain does not let his lily of the valley appear; quite too virginal, white and pure is the little flower here.
(Quite in contrast to my still very beloved "Le Muguet" by Annick Goutal, which is already a bit worn out!)
Since it needs an appropriate accompaniment and this is found in a green bedding, which offers him the right base and still emphasizes his clear, very intense day.
In the same way, pure white jasmine generously and lovingly adds its youthful scent of floral sunny gold faces with the large petals.
Two of my beloved "Stinkerchen" and so true scents of femininity unite here.
But of course, then Her Highness Rose may not be missing.
Can yet the rose by the delicacy of its silky petals many complex fragrances enclose, to give them later "prepared" to the completion of a fragrance creation again.
(Her Majesty is thus a small chemical factory!)
This would explain why Guerlain's "Muguet 2016" smells so special: its individual fragrance building blocks love and embrace each other, forming a harmonious whole.
Thus, this charming creature yet decorates and charms a few hours; remains as pure and clear as it was sprayed on and shines like the young spring.
Although I will continue to cherish my "Le Muguet", it is still a great pleasure to know and wear Guerlain's Lily of the Valley creation 2016: even in early December!
