The Uncanny Valley effect
Uncanny Valley or acceptance gap is the name given to a hitherto hypothetical and paradoxical effect of the acceptance of artificial figures on the audience.
https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Uncanny_Valley

In simple words, this effect describes that human-like things like dolls or robots seem "pleasant" and familiar to us, up to funny if they resemble us humans,- but only to a certain degree, or in a certain way.
And for things very similar to us, there is a narrow area, the "uncanny valley", where we find the respective extras of human behavior or appearance, just creepy and disgusting.

One could also say that it is the difference in the behaviour and appearance of a human-like figure that determines whether a toddler laughs at an artificial being or cries in fear
Well, and "Halloween Man Shot," for me, is La Nuit de L'Homme Uncanny Valley
I've been testing Man Shot for many months now, and I'm trying to find a way to access it.
It is actually a fragrance with many good notes, of which I like some as well as the constellation of that, or, at least, should like.

The overlap with La Nuit de L'Homme, for example, is already clearly noticeable, although I somehow find the association with Armani Code / Profumo more appropriate.

I have already tested many LNDL "clones", or even fragrances that happen to follow a similar concept.
But with the citric-alcoholic (daiquiri / rum) chord in Man Shot, I just don't get warm in the long run And I can't say that it smells really bad, at most a little "juvenile"... But as the base is quite similar to La Nuit, the top note makes something strange out of the scent, which doesn't leave my sense of smell alone...

"Y-Collection" (Zara) or "Suave" (Parfums Vintage) are also La Nuit replicas, but noticeably different, so that you can see it is not an "original" YSL.
Only these are for me outside the Uncanny Valley area, where I can accept them as a pleasant alternative that I carry here and there.

Man Shot is overdriven in a way that I personally can't relate to. Even though I can't deny the La Nuit base that's in there,- especially if you put your nose really close to the sprayed-on one!
But it won't be enough for a bottle, even though I'll have to smell it 10 times today to convince myself again and again how strange the small difference to La Nuit de L'Homme is.

So, that was the 500 word version of "Thank you, I like my La Nuit please without daiquiri" ;P

If you are very easy with boozyness or alcoholic-sweet perfume chords, then you might like the scent very much!

Have a nice day. :)

Nice scent for a small buck
I bought HMS without many expectations at a 50% off at my local store and was it a great deal or what? It's a gorgeous little scent with moderate projection and very decent longevity.
Halloween Man Shot opens boozy and spicy and dries down to a sweet vanilla and leather, very classy and playful.
I see many comparisons to La Nuit de l'Homme, perhaps due to the cardamom but since La Nuit is still missing in my collection and I'm not familiar with it just yet I get some notes that remind me of Armani Code Profumo.

All and all this is a great fragrance regardless the price tag, it could be twice as much and still be worth buying

Halloween Shot Man: A Hidden Gem
SOTD: 12/14/18

It was SOTD as of 12/14/18, to my nose is a good aromatic and powdery scent, other reviews compare it to La Nuit, in which I don't have to compare, is a very surprising sweet/sexy scent my nose detect the iris, vanilla, cardamom and leather. This scent surprised me for it's value it's a hidden gem/steal. It will be in my rotation this winter 2018/2019. Highly recommended

Scent: 8/10
Value: 9/10: Great Value/A True bargain
Presentation/Design: 7/10
Longevity-Performance: 8.5/10: On my skin around between 8-12+ hrs (last I checked the scent was still there on my skin going on 15+ hrs) *varies on skin chemistry*
Overall: 8.25/10

My SOTD (Scent of the Day): Halloween Shot Man EDT: As of 03/09/19

My 2nd wearing of this fragrance, and how I love the scent due to my nose still detects that vanilla and iris with lemon daiquiri, cardamom and pepper which is unique to my nose. Other people compare this fragrance to La Nuit, Valentino Uomo Intense. I don't own YSL La Nuit but I do own Valentino Uomo Intense and I do get both share the vanilla and iris but Halloween Shot Man is not even close to VUI. To me is similar on the opening to F by Ferragamo Black due to the pepper. Overall is still the same is 8.25 out of 10 and the longevity/performance is 8 out of 10, 9-11 sprays: Lasted on my skin as a skin scent around 8-10+ hrs. Still a hidden gem and a superb scent don't sleep on this fragrance is a worthy must get and a good addition to any collection.

Recommended alternative for La Nuit de L'Homme fans
Halloween Man Shot has been on my radar for a long time, now it's finally in my possession. Published in 2016. A flanker of the great Halloween series by Jesus Del Pozo. Here it is listed under the brand Halloween, in former times still under Jesus Del Pozo. Maybe changed for marketing reasons.
I also own the wonderful original from this series, which goes in the direction of 1 million, but is much more fruity. Also the Halloween Rock On, which is also a great Flanker and goes in a similar direction. Man shot is something completely different. You can see it on the registered Duftzwillingen. Roughly speaking, one can say quite clearly: It is a twin fragrance, but in the details many individual changes.
I became aware of this fragrance through the good Jeremy and his partly really good tips. Here, too, he has hit the nail on the head. In the statements I read the word hype three times. Well, a fragrance that has a few statements here and not a single comment, then you can hardly talk about hype. Also so: The smell has a very small Bekanntheitsgrad and is rather an Insider tip. The Halloween original is much better known. The Del Pozo fragrances are anyway very unknown, but still highly recommended in fragrance and performance.

I ordered this fragrance directly from Spain because I wanted an import anyway. The brand is a little better known there than here. The whole line is very cheap. The large 125ml version is usually available between 30 and 40 euros. I paid just over 30 for this size. Is it more than worth.
The big cardboard is very prollig-large with golden writing. The bottle is also very noble with beautiful black and golden lid. Got something.
The fragrance starts fresh and with lots of cardamom. Of course the comparison with LNDL comes soon. The cardamom comes in a combination with a beautiful citric freshness. No 0815 citrus note. According to the pyramid, thanks to Daiquiri, a cocktail of rum. Comes well, especially with the beautiful spicy cardamom note. The iris is also quickly present. A nice powdery note that reminds me slightly of LNDL L'Intense version, but here less carty and more powdery. The powdery note is not too much in the foreground, but rather offers a beautiful background. Fresh sage, which gives a nice freshness. Even a sweet note is noticeable throughout the whole process. Will come through the vanilla, but in combination with the other notes not too vanilla, but perceived mainly from sweet component.
The base also goes strongly to LNDL. Beautifully sweet with a pleasant woody base. Well done.
The fragrance as a whole reminds me of a mixture of LNDL Edt, LNDL L'Intense and a little Salvatore Ferragamo F Black + independence thanks to lemon daiquiri. Top!
Performance goes towards LNDL EDT. Not outstanding but very satisfactory and absolutely sufficient. Especially the Sillage is really good over a few hours and the durability is with 6-7 hours really top, especially in the price range.
Portable to the evening, for dates or also for clubbing. Possibly also in your free time, if you prefer such a type of fragrance.

All in all a fragrance that I can recommend through and through, especially for the small price. Plus he's pretty unknown. If you like F Black or LNDL, you can definitely make a blind buy.

Strange name, great fragrance! A "La Nuit" boozier alternative
This fragrance brand belongs to the Perfumes y Diseño Group family of brands.Other brands examples are Desigual, Tous and Roberto Verino.
It's a nice fragrance that in terms of scent stays somewhere between Valentino Uomo, Dior Homme, CH Men Privé and YSL La Nuit de l'Homme. That should be a very nice spot to stay :-)
Lemon daiquiri, dark spices, vanilla, leather, iris, cardamom, and amberwood, are the very well blended notes that I detect.
However for me is missing that special "something" to love it. As I am not a particular fan of Valentino and Dior Homme (although I sometimes wear Dior Homme Intense), probably I would like this fragrance to lean more to the YSL or CH directon or even to an independent own direction (more boozier and darker). From the four fragrances mentioned I do think that HMS scent is closer to Dior Homme Intense
I do not consider that Perfumes y Diseño tried to position Halloween Shot as a clone. This fragrance has its own individuality but trails a path that is dominated by big designers, so Halloween Shot may be in a tricky ground. Perfumes y Diseño has another brand called "The Nights Collection" that really propose very nice niche quality fragrances,
.
Let's see the math for Halloween Shot Men
Scent: 8.5 (my judgement)
Longevity: 8.0 (a bit above average for the existing notes - less than 8 hours)
Sillage: 7.5 (3~4 feet at its peak with 3 sprays; projects less than 2,5 hours)
Uniqueness: 8.0 (preetty unique, considering the distance sustained with the 4 mentioned fragrances but not far enough from them)
Wearability: 8.0 (all year round, day or night, except summer ar any warm/hot temperatures)
Versatility: 9.0 (yes to clubbing, socializing, events, restaurants, bars, dates, romancing, sex, office, picnics, weaddings, movies, birthday gift.... no to beach and work out)
Quality: 8.5 (my judgement)
Presentation: 9.0 (gorgeous and effective bottle)
Price: 8.0 (100 ml tester for 23 Euros + VAT + shipping)

Average: 8.17/10

I may buy it again but just for a lower price.
If Halloween launches a flanker called HALLOWEEN MEN SHOT DARK, I will be the first in the queue to buy it.

A Great Cheap DHI
Halloween Man Shot is a nice scent for fall that will not break the bank. It is similar to Valentino Uomo Intense but it is done in a different way. If you are not a fan of iris scents, this might be the DHI clone you want. Iris is not there to me. Instead I get a citrus cleaner heavy open from the lemon and daiquiri notes. Then after wearing it today especially, I noticed a kind of mint juelp accord in mid which I loved. I'm guessing that is from the sage. Now I will say it isn't on the minty side, but it smelt like mint juelp. Following that you get a vanilla heavy base that lasts and lasts.

This surprisingly is more of a fall day scent than a night scent to me. Yes, it will work in Winter and Spring as well. Yes, it is good for night dates but honestly it is a good workday scent. My girlfriend smelt this on me for the first time two days ago and instantly thought it was a Fall scent without me saying it was.

Performance is pretty good. It don't project like say Valentino Uomo, Uomo Intense, Mugler Amen, Ferragamo Uomo or others can, but it is a solid one. I do also find it can last 8-10 hours as a skin scent, but it will become a victim of olfactory fatigue as it goes on.

Overall, Halloween Man Shot is pretty good. It is in no way up there like Valentino Uomo Intense but it is a good cheaper alternative with a different open. I think it is fine with the demphasized iris note. I rate it an even 8.0 out of 10.

Very conforting scent. The opening might be too "alcaholic" but it soothes out.

Not listed, but the drydown has heavy lavender notes.

If you compare Ferragamo F Black with Halloween Shot you will discover that they are just 99% similar, because Halloween is 1% sweeter :-)
