Interesting Facts
Roy Halston Frowick was born in 1932 in the US state of Iowa. When he opened his first fashion store in Chicago at the age of 25, the name "Halston" became his company logo. He became famous in 1961 for his hat creations. The legendary "Pill Box," which Jacqueline Kennedy wore to her husband's inauguration, gave him his breakthrough.

The Halston wave spilled over into Germany in 1975/1976 with his perfumes. Distributed by Revlon, "Halston Cologne" (one of the great ladies' classics, dark orange juice, soft and warm with an oriental finish) and the men's fragrances "Halston 1-12" and "Halston Z 14" were released. The popularity of the fragrances was reflected in the diversity of the respective product ranges. At least 15 different products per fragrance were successfully marketed around the perfume and body care culture.

However, the Halston fever was not only due to the perfumes. The shape of the flacons and the unusual presentation of the care products were simply cult in the mid/late 70s. Elsa Peretti created these in close coordination with Halston. "Halston Night'' from 1980 and "Halston 101" from 1983 were further responses to the successful trend. In the mid/late 80s, this Halston trend ebbed away, at least in Europe.

Halston, who lived in the jet set, still felt the effects of success during his lifetime. He died in 1990 as a result of an immune disease.

In America, the fashion brand is still established. Halston fragrances continue to exist - albeit very limited in variety.
